Also! Mirror's Edge is only like £5 at this point over here and I can't imagine it's much more expensive over there so you could go for that

Played it, loved it despite its flaws, and own it on PC(also for $5!)

Burnout Paradise is a great pick-up-and-play game, and you can find it for around $10

I second Folklore. The gameplay is fairly basic (not bad in any way, just fairly standard hack & slash), but it's dripping with atmosphere and gorgeous graphics.

Or buy Pac-Man CE DX off PSN. So much fun. Galaga Legions DX has just come out and seems similarly entertaining.

my only complaint is that it lacks a custom soundtrack feature.

I came to recommend this as well. Picked it up off a bargain shelf a few months ago and really enjoyed it. Certainly one of the PS3's hidden gems.
