Avenging Spider-Man #1 should be a lot of fun. Zeb Wells is a very solid Spidey-scribe, and hopefully Joe Mad can stay on for multiple issues before inevitable fill-ins/delays!

True, and I'm sure from an actuall time standpoint he was busy on books where dates are going to matter.

I personally am looking forward to a bunch more graphic novels coming out. They trickle out of DC and are barely existent at Marvel nowadays.

Wonder if we're going to see a few on November 30th? Nothing announced for the 5th Wednesday yet and we know they're not going to put out any regular issues.

I hate to say it because you'd have to get individual issues since the trade isn't out till November, but Scott Snyder's 11 issues of Detective Comics is one of the best Batman stories ever written.

I'm actually surprised how much I've grown to love him. He wasn't even on my list until recently, when he rocketed himself to number 3. Amazing. I like him even more than Hal Jordan, unlike him, Richard Rider is actually the leader of his intergalactic space cops corps. And he doesn't have to put up with any stupid blue guardians.

There should be three miniseries, Quasar and Star-Lord, which are both great, along with Wraith that you don't need to read. Then Nova 4-7 which kind of acts as the fourth mini, but then 8-10 can also be read before you start Conquest, or during, doesn't matter, but you definitely have to read the annual, 11 and 12 before Conquest 6.

SCHISM #3 SPOILERS:

-opens on utopia, lots of word bubbles, blah blah, emma says "clusterf***"
-her telepathy gets jammed (she's at that mutant museum opening thing and scott is on utopia) and scott freaks out and yells JEEEEEEAN or something then runs off
-emma gets a bloody nose and everyone panics cuz a woman's increased bloodflow is serious business
-afro girl is looking at a pic of the classic x-men and asks "why are they smiling." I don't get it

MEANWHILE, AN INCREDIBLY DUMB SCENE UNFOLDS AT THE LOCAL BAR:
-wolverine is on a big red phone that kinda reminds me of the one from the batman series. what, wolverine, a man on like five teams doesn't carry a cell phone or communicator?
-he's on the phone with rogue. he's like "lol how's fighting all those sentinels" and rogue is like "THERE ARE SO MANY WTF HELP ME" and wolverine is like "nope at a bar lol"
-well it doesnt go like that exactly but what the hell why is wolverine just chilling while the rest of the world is in sentinel chaos? actually, rogue is just casually chit-chatting on her cell phone while a huge fight with a sentinel is like 10 feet behind her. what the hell

MEET THE CREEPY LITTLE BRATS THAT WE'LL NEVER SEE AFTER THIS MINI:





-the leader kid is like "if there's anyone here uncomfortable with mass murder feel free to leave now." BUT THEY DON'T! THAT MEANS THEY ARE EVIL LITTLE KIDS AND THAT IS EDGY!! IT IS COOL BECAUSE KIDS DON'T MURDER PEOPLE
-the kids arrive at the x-museum and namor is like "I've hit children before" and stuff and none of the x-men, not even colossus, seem uneasy with beating the s*** out of little kids
-the tell afro girl to "RUNNNN FOR YOUR LIFE, IDIE!" and she does. why is there so much focus on her
-the kids take out a few low-level mutants like with just guns and stuff. what wimpy mutants

-montage of the kids kicking the crap out of the x-men. then they have the shortest, dumbest fight scene ever:



-wow, so that was useless. but then it's instantly undone by:



-so the plan was "stop emma from being telepathic." so if that wasn't working, why didn't she shift to diamond to be somewhat useful? and because she didn't she got shot in the f***ing face. good job emma, this is a potential leader of the x-men after schism you know
-kilgore beats magneto by shooting him with a gun that shoots... really tiny stars, that are apparently super powerful magnets, which destroy magneto's magnetic powers. whaaaaaaa
-all the x-men are down, and they get hit with FACE HUGGERS FROM ALIEN. The hell? the villains do a victory dance cuz I guess their master plan was to create mutant/xenomorph hybrids for that Alien remake planned for next year

-afro girl somehow gets in telepathic contact with Cyclops, and she's like I DUNNO WUT TO DO LOL as she cowers behind some statue thing
-Wolverine is also running to the museum! He is not on a jetpack though. somehow the jetpack is fast enough that it gets scott from utopia to the museum at the same time as wolverine gets there. wolverine was at a bar a few blocks away, right? how fast is that jetpack? or how slow is wolverine? they left at the same time, I think.
-cyclops tells afro girl to KILL THEM ALL, and wolverine is like "nooo scott nooooo idie"
-Idie does indeed KILL THEM ALL
-kilgore had planted a bomb which goes off while idie walks away slowly like so action movie ok whatever cool uh huh yeah

So what has JH Williams III done that I should read? I love his artwork and need something to tide me over until the 31st since I finish the Flashpoint books in about 5 minutes each.

Also, Any series which you guys would recommend I read? DC only at this point, I'm gonna wait a while before I get back into Marvel. Judging from recent topics, the most recent Detective Comics run is among those. Older stuff is cool too. Mainly just anything with good artwork and great stories or great art with good stories. Some Manapul books would be nice too, planning on getting the Flash books leading up to Flashpoint.
