Even though the Normal contest was a big mess, it still managed to end satisfactorily. No matter who the winner is here, the end result will be terrible.
The object of this contest is to save your favorite (or just your non-least favorite) Pokemon.
Rules: - You may vote for 1 Pokemon every 1 hour. - You cannot vote for the same Pokemon more than once in each round. - Pokemon need 10 saves to advance. - No save trading is allowed. - The last remaining Pokemon will be eliminated from the contest. - To help prevent alt voting, accounts must be level 25 or higher to vote. - Please do not edit your saves. If you need to change your vote for whatever reason, make a new post. It's too easy to miss a save that was changed via an edit.
This is the seventh contest, the first six being Bug, Electric, Dragon, Ice, Steel and Normal. This time we have Psychic. If this one finishes successfully, then I'll move on to whatever type has the most votes, etc... each Pokemon is eligible for both of its types, not just its primary type. In the case of Pokemon with multiple formes, each forme will be included, as long as they have different stats or types. The exception to this is Arceus, who will only be included in the Normal contest (as being in all 17 would be ridiculous).
You are able to vote for the type you would like to see done after the Psychic contest is over. You can vote for any type not already done, and you can vote only once. You can also change your nomination later on, if you want.
I actually don't mind any of these three winning. Mew is my favorite, but Lugia and Slowking winning will be okay. Barreldragon, I don't think the end result will be terrible. In fact, it could be awesome!

Slowking would be a bit of a stretch (though not one I personally mind) but the other two are quite popular. i expected Kadabra/Gardevoir to win (because they were such popular usage choices in RBY/RSE, respectively) but beyond that, I would have predicted Mew and Lugia pretty quickly.

I'm over its elimination. It's gotten to the point where all my picks for wanting to win the contest have been eliminated and I'm just like this contest doesn't really matter anymore. There are only two more rounds so there's no point in having someone take over.

The Normal contest was still terrible. It's no fun going into a contest where your favorites are already out. And it probably lost players when you moved it to a new board.

Hey now, that's a little uncalled for. Slowking and Mew are both great- one being a Gen 1 favorite and the other a very under-appreciated underdog- each are worthy winners. Even Lugia who is unfortunately my least favorite at this point was once in my top 25 pokémon. None of these would make terrible winners so I do not get why you are comparing them to the likes of Spinda (who has a cute gimmick, but let's face it, is a joke in terms of both battle ability and appearance) or Eevee (who is cute, but incredibly boring in my honest opinion).

I was also thinking this. Without upping the number of required saves, it basically becomes a race to see which pokémon's supporters arrive first instead of an accurate representation of a pokémon's popularity. Of course with the entire Alakazam line gone as well as Mewtwo, I'd really question whether this entire contest was an accurate measure anyway.
The only concern would be those who don't sign on until later during the day (monster is the only one I can think of) wouldn't get a chance to vote if the round ends too early.
True, but we need at least five more votes for this round to end and at most seven (make that six) and it's only been an hour or so. You know what? Let's see how this goes. If it actually does end early, we can either extend the round to allow others to vote or just go on ahead to the final round. ---[insert signature here]

This board can actually afford to have 12 saves for the semi-final round. When these contests were being hosted on the PBWSB, it was always 8 saves before the final round, although the host probably could have upped it some more.
