The production on Fireworks, and all her songs really, is through the roof. But Teenage Dream was heartfelt. Everything else from this album feels soulless.

That's exactly the sort of sentiment I can't get behind. I can accept that she's wildly popular and that hundreds of thousands of consumers find the songs I find are just good or average to be "amazing", but I cannot accept that she is the MJ of our generation. Again, ugh.

she is absolutely nowhere near MJ's level. it sucks that he'll probably have his record broken, but with music being so readily available to everyone the real surprise is that it's lasted so long. it was far harder to do what he did then than it is now. perry can join the rest of the 'famous but not infamous' group of musicians. honestly, gaga's the only one from this generation that i'd put into that level.

Sweet, I like her a lot. Also it literally doesn't affect me in the tiniest bit if somebody has a thousand number one hits in a row. I don't have anything to do with the music industry or Katy Perry or Michael Jackson or whoever, so what do I care if she's successful? Good for her.

Firework is f***ing dumb. It's just a bunch of generic crap mixed with sex noises.

I actually like Teenage Dream though. The background is really simple but the tune works really well. I definitely agree with anyone who says this one is her best (from what I've heard of her music of course).

That kissing a girl song I don't particularly care for but it's about lesbians so it gets my respect.

Don't really know any of her songs besides those 3.

I used to like GaGa, like when Telephone came out (because that song is the ****ing bomb), but now whenever I see anything about her I'm all, "Alright we get it Lady GaGa. You are so wacky. Seriously. We get it. Stop it already." and then I go do something else. I don't think I've ever been less interested in anything a pop artist does.

I like Katy Perry, Kesha, and Lady Gaga! It's really funny seeing all these different users drawing the line on which they think is decent and the others are terrible, and some users drawing the line on individual songs for each artist.



I don't really care about records or whatever. All 5 of those songs are good, so good for Katy Perry. I think I prefer two other songs on that album over all five of them too, so good job on making a great album. AND NO NEITHER OF THEM ARE PEACOCK AAAUGH.

What is this talk about Peacock? It's a pretty funny song but not the sort of thing you can hear over and over without getting bothered.

I also like pearl but I don't see that one being super well received as a single.

I actually dont mind Katy Perry as current pop artists go, I think she's got a bit of something different about her. Her songs are catchy and fun to listen to and shes stunning as hell.
