I'm playing Thomas 1 atm. Finally got her. I thiiiiink the number of horses changed when I talked to her, which could explain how I got it wrong twice, as both of those times I counted before talking to her at all. >_>

The walkthrough had me do it with Thomas. D:

It wasn't the spiders themselves that were the problem- I have Mel and a Turtle Tunic on Juan, so I rarely even took damage, but getting interrupted every five steps while I was trying to count got old pretty darn quick.

is there any reason to hang on to the decoration stuff besides

-placing it with one character so another can pick it up in a later chapter
-doing the thing with the S statue

You mostly use it for that first reason, to hax Thomas some quick cash.

I'm not aware of any special scenes that come from decorative items that you put around the castle. You DO get special scenes if you take certain bath items into the bath with you, but it's really not worth it. The only good bath stuff comes from taking specific character combinations in there to have private discussions.

Okay I looked it up, apparently you get special scenes in the statue room if you put certain statues in there.

News to me! Money is probably more important though.

Do you have a save loaded with Suikoden 1 and Suikoden 2 endgame data ported over?

If not, you'll NEVER catch 'em all! 2 scripts for the theater only appear if you've beaten those other two games.

The first one is even available on PSN. The second one sadly is not *clutches copy*

You know how many times people debate series rankings within a fanbase?

I have never seen a single person argue that IV is anything but the worst in the main series.

I actually have not yet played Tactics or V (or Tierkreis for that matter). The first 3 are all great though.

Thomas is the single best thing in the Suikoden III game and you should do as much with him as possible! IIRC recruiting Mel as soon as you can makes his part of the game easier.

I don't know about single best thing but I did indeed get Mel
