How about Mega Man 8's stage select theme for the character select?

And weapons available like in BlazBlue. They're part of the action, but neither a style (MK:D) nor the primary focus (Soul Calibur).

And in 2D, with an engine similar to Street Fighter. However, priority and hitboxes and all those little niches are gone. It'll be more like MK9, where the hits are apparent and specials almost always dominate, regardless.

Only one super meter, which can be used for breakers, enhanced, and supers.

Three different super attacks, however. They can range from grabs to projectiles to counters to ground quakes, etc.

Powers are involved (ice, fire, lightning, etc.)

So are RPG classes.

Music can be anything depending on the character.

I would take requests on what the b8ers I was actually included wanted as theme music (Instrumental only), hire froq to do the spriting, and build it entirely on the Melty Blood engine since I actually kind of know that one (But I don't think it's that different from Guilty Gear, Blazblue, etc)


but I don't ever plan on doing this because lolreg making worthwhile stuff

For a fighting game? While MM8 has some of the consistently best themes in the series (opening, English and Japanese (mostly Japanese), weapon get, title, ending if you really want to go that route), no. Just no.
