I don't know if it is because I'm now going to a university where people tend to have more money than my old community college, but all of a sudden, it seems like a lot of people are suddenly walking around with tablets. They are almost always iPads, as well. They seem to be slightly less common than smartphones. Although actually, I just saw someone walking around multitasking with an iPhone and an iPad at the same time (I'm actually impressed!).
I knew tablets were becoming popular, but I didn't expect a boom like that! It almost makes me wonder if I should get one, except I can't really justify carrying around a laptop, tablet, and Android smartphone.

I live at a university too, and I've seen like 3 people with tablets. One was taking notes in class with it... lol virtual keyboard.
I've actually seen someone hook up a physical keyboard to an iPad and type notes. Really smart idea actually, since it is a stats class. Typing math stuff on a laptop is harder than actually writing it with a pencil or with a finger on an iPad.

No it's not because it's as big and uncomfortable as a laptop then without the advantages of a laptop
I still don't see what the use of a tablet really is, it's just a hybrid that doesn't really offer anything that other things don't
Well, it appears that he keeps the keyboard separate except for being in-class. I think it is a foldable keyboard, too.
And I agree about the use of a tablet. I see them as great for browsing the Internet, but I can't see them as being much more than an oversized smartphone that can't make calls otherwise.
