Unless something crazy happens, 3-4 hours of what I just played seems fantastic! If this weren't the first month of The New 52 I'd probably buy it. Maybe next month.

Bad choice of words. Uncooperative is the better word. The jumps cause you to float to much which is great for the combat but not for the platforming later. That combined with instant full speed from standing to running and tiny platforms make the platforming bothersome. Again so I hear.

I don't know "one of the best downloadable games ever," but I just finished Chapter 1 of the demo. Visuals are great, much better than I figured they would be, and the combat is pretty good, too. It's sort of what I imagine DMC might be like in 2D. It has major Castlevania vibes in the setting, but it's more old school Castlevania instead of Metroidvania -- there are individual levels (point A->B) instead of one sprawling castle.

I never did play Shank, but I can believe it.

I'm not a big fan of this backflip mechanic. I wish they would just let you double jump instead, it'd be much more natural. Also, the blood sucking move is busted. Good way to avoid taking any kind of damage!

Did you play the co-op? It was the same length as the main game, pretty much, and had its own bosses which required doing co-op stuff. Only flaw is it didn't have its own hard mode.
