2) While I didn't like that NC either, I wonder what LP's these guys do enjoy. I haven't seen one that actually was entertaining.
3) I like how it says in the title NC "jumped the shark" with this LP and they criticize him for... stuff he always does. "He's acting angry and making weird noises." You don't say!

I think they said Jump the Shark because he's doing a Let's Play and he's literally not even making jokes and he's just screaming and shrieking.

I have no idea why Doug Walker thought that was even a halfway decent idea to do this, because it had no humor or wit.

Both Slowbeef and Diabeetus have multiple quality LPs under their belt and are definitely worth a watch.

Chip Cheezum and General Ironicus also do Retsupuraes on their channel as well, and have several LPs between the both of them.

Proteus sometimes stops by and Retsupuraes with Chip and Ironicus and/or Slowbeef and Diabeetus and has many good ones as well.

Pokecapn, Medibot, My Name Is Kaz and Kung-Fu Jesus have wonderful lets plays of Sonic 2006, Sonic Unleashed, and Sonic Colors, and are currently doing every Mario Party game.

Maxwell Adams, Ferr, Pipes!, and Evek are the Freelance Astronauts and have several LPs, the best of which being their New Super Mario Bros Wii one. Diabeetus sometimes stops in on these guys as well.

Chewbot did an amazing Let's Play/ Narrative called The Terrible Secret of Animal Crossing, and did a more traditional LP of Oregon Trail.

SynthOrange did another cool LP of Princess Maker 2, with Gendo Ikari as the father.

Of course there's Boatmurdered, Headshoots, and later Syrupleaf as far as Dwarf Fortress succession games go.

Kazztawdal on Youtube is great for his Facade LP

Raocow on Youtube has some great ROMhack and other assorted games on his Youtube channel as well

Right. I should really view more of the TGWTG crew's videos to see if any of them are actually good at the job - the only ones I've seen are Critic, Chick, Cinema Snob and Film Brain. Critic is the best out of those, but none of them are good. I do like Todd in the Shadows, but he reviews music rather than movies and shows.

Bonetail pretty much gave a comprehensive list of most of the LP groups and people who are pretty much the masters of the genre. Hell, slowbeef was the one that pretty much inspired the entire LP community, which bleed over from SA to Youtube and spawned innumerable unregisteredhypercam2's.

SirRon would be a Youtube LP'er. He is basically a gimmick. I certainly wouldn't put him in the same tier as the ones Bonetail mentioned.

Retsupurae can be funny when they find absolutely horrendous LPs that no one would ever find otherwise. Not really their comments but the fact that it's a way to compile horrible LPs. This is obviously different because it's a high profile LP in the first place.

It being a "high profile LP" does nothing to help its quality.

It's all about the commentary. you don't even have to be funny! you can just simply be informative about the game or the company that made it. Or show off by being really good at the game (Oyster's Megaman LPs come to mind)

NC was not any of these three.

I wasn't saying that NC did a good LP. I said it didn't achieve what I use Retsupurae for, since we all know NC already.

To add to Bonetail's list of LP'ers, there's a group of them called the Runaway Guys, composed of three LP'ers that all have their own quirks.

NintendoCapriSun is almost 40, and sucks at video games, but you can tell he loves them with a passion. Also, his life is pretty much a failure, as used to make donuts for a living, but he recently quit, as he now has a sponsor on Youtube.

ChuggaConroy gets really angry at games, especially when playing with others, and gets excited a lot, but he also makes a point to be as informative as he can while he plays.

And ProtonJon is about as serious of an LP'er that I've ever seen. He's really ****ing good at video games, and all of his videos almost seem professional. To really strike home both of these points, he's currently working on an LP of Superman 64. It goes over how the game came to exist, how Titus has fared since, how certain characters got included, excluded, and tons of other interesting tidbits. He also explains in it that he's beaten the game several times, which is ****ing nuts. The guy really is a god among LP'ers.

protonjon is also a goon on SA, who holds the bar pretty high as far as LPs go, on SA, Protonjon would be above average, but on somewhere like Youtube, where the bar is somewhere underground, the man looks like picasso

Oh wow, I was wondering if Retsupurae would do this and they actually did. And thank god they did. I actually happen to love Nostalgia Critic but goddamn his Bart's Nightmare LP was an unmitigated disaster. It's one of the least funny things I've ever watched.

I enjoyed watching the letsplay
but I also enjoy watching Slowbeefs vids
