Windows 8 looks kinda crazy. it looks like they're going all-in with tablets. I have no idea how they're going to make this friendly for traditional PCs.

i like the whole ebb and flow of the windows os (ME bad, XP good, Vista bad, 7 good). i predict windows 8 will be a failure. they will work on it and tune it up for version 9 and that will be better.

didn't seem to be that much info. is this replacing Windows Live? Is it a competitor for Steam? is there any purpose at all?

probably for interfacing with Xbox users -- they've got Xbox Live with Skype on two platforms now. plus Kinect stuff

ah so like cross-platform play? people have been wanting that forever. that'd be pretty useful I guess

kinda. I don't think we'll see 360 games on PC though. that'd kill their console business which is extremely profitable right now.

we already see most 360 games on PC!

XBL on PC isn't big news unless it has like, full support for all XBLA games or something crazy like that

this just looks horrible because it's like microsoft is ignorant of the fact that people get tablets and smartphones as a supplement to their PC's or laptops, not to replace them. do they really think traditional mouse+keyboard computers are just going to disappear in the next few years?

they've been working on this since the 360's start. games for windows was all about this. the eventual road is being with the game for PC and your 360 and the two able to share everything, but until then it'll probably just allow for co-op between 'em.
