It also got an undeserving Best Picture award.

And it kind of felt disconnected.

I still like it fine though.

I don't hate it, I definitely thought there were better movies that year it won, but it was a pretty good movie.

...also I haven't seen it since it was in theaters, which imo is too long to really give an accurate opinion on.

I'm not sure, Crash's year seemed fairly weak in comparison to others.

The big controversy was Brokeback Mountain and people being homophobic whatever. And that BBM won the other awards, and was a clear favorite to win the Oscar.

But it's a well known fact that the Academy tells topical movies to f*** off, ala Do the Right Thing, then make up for it by letting a movie about the same thing win many years later because it's fair, ala Crash.

You would have to pay me quite a bit to watch any of those movies. Then again, that applies to most any movie labelled as "drama."

Again, I'm asking the question. I don't think it was a bad movie, yet whenever it is mentioned here people often use the word "terrible" as if it's one of the worst movies they've ever seen. I can understand being upset that it had so much critical acclaim, but I'm simply curious to know why people would actually HATE the movie.

I don't really hate it but it's not like I love it. Still, I find it better than Munich or Good Night and Good Luck. The sad thing is there were so many good movies that year that were ignored like Match Point or The Constant Gardener.

But yeah, there are many other undeserved Oscar noms, besides the cliché choices of Crash or Shakespeare in Love (instead of what, Saving Private Ryan? Don't make me laugh!)

I didn't like the pacing in Crash.

I never really felt connected to the movie.

It was just "oh hey here's a scene of an injustice" and then some time passed and then "here you go, another scene of injustice taking place". I can't even remember if it had a plot.
