People failing to do this is the most common cause of accidents during inclement weather because people pull out in front of them, not seeing any lights.
A car with automatic daytime running lights is not an excuse. Your full lights need to be turned on.
Now, why the f*** is this not what cops are pulling people over for? It seems like half the people on the road on a rainy day have their heads so far up their asses that they have no idea that they need to flip the god damn switch and put their lights on. They are what cause accidents. Yet the cops sit around, waiting to pull people over who pull illegal U-turns or are speeding.

That's exactly the mindset you should have. Of course you turn your lights on in the rain. People in my area... and, well, every other area I've ever driven in the rain in, seem to have problems with this. Half the cars I saw out this afternoon in the pouring rain didn't have their lights on. It really is infuriating. There's no way around it. The cops only give them a citation after they've caused an accident. They don't actively pursue them.

In fairness, if this was the only thing he ever complained about and he wasn't so pointlessly condescending about it, I'd be right there with him on this one. Also, the claim that this the majority of weather-related incidents is also completely pulled out of nowhere, and certainly isn't a leading cause of major accidents compared to the obvious actual loss of control.

Those little lights are parking lights. They are not sufficient. Also, you have no tail lights on either.
