If you have an Android phone and it asks you to do a software update son, find a way around it.

Speaking of Android phones, I've had one for a little bit but haven't really utilized it for crazy smartphone capabilities yet.

How do I... ahem, get aps. I'm interested in craigslist and facebook aps, specifically.

yoblazer, for facebook you can just use the browser. I always found that a lot easier than using the app. As far as getting apps, there should be a way to access the market from your app screen.

What phone do you have? My Optimus V has never received an update.

I'm guessing you got updated to 2.3 Gingerbread or something?

I use Cyanogen so I guess it doesn't affect me? But would there really be a big Android-wide update? Are you sure it's just not for your phone?

It's an LG Optimus S with Sprint.

Also after updating my phone no longer syncs with my computer and will not charge through usb.

Oh yep seems like this is a thing.

Android just nuked a bunch of their phones with the gingerbread update. Update disabled many phones' ability to charge.

Gingerbread turned my phone (Motorola Atrix) from average into incredibly ****ing awesome. And the Facebook app *****s all over the mobile layout in the browser. Unless you're looking to do a few specific tasks. For reading feeds and messages, the app is the way to go. I like it better than the FULL site in all honesty.
