most games it's easier and frequently cheaper to just get it on steam, and you get the satisfaction of not giving a terrible company like gamestop money!

Even if I were interested in getting the game I'm looking for on Steam, I currently lack both the payment method & the internet connection (I'm posting this from my phone) necessary to do so. Whereas if I go to Gamestop to get it, I can use the gift card I got in the mail today & some cash I have leftover to pay for it (and I don't recall ever having a problem with Gamestop, either).

That may be, but I don't have a gift card to either of those. Besides, the game I'm looking for is Portal 2, and I'd be surprised if none of the Gamestops near me have that.

Well for Portal 2 (and other steamworks games) you're gonna need to activate and update it on Steam anyways, so if you have no internet you're out of luck
