She'll get to bypass the Republican primaries completely and should easily amass whatever signature totals or polling percentage needed to get on the ballot and in the debates. This is probably her last chance to milk her tea party rubes for every cent she can get, and who is she to let such an opportunity go to waste!

I disagree. She isn't enough of an outsider to hold the 3rd party label (Ron Paul, for example, could).

And she is making stupid amounts of money by not being a politician, so it's kind of hard to sink a ton of that cash into a campaign that will be failed by design.

But I think this revenue stream will dry up after this next election, especially if she doesn't run. Most of the... I dunno, gravitas(?) that surrounds her stems from people wondering and hoping that she'll run for president. If she doesn't do it now, there's really no point in hoping she'll ever run for elected office, and she becomes far less interesting. I mean, if she doesn't run in 2012, does anyone really believe there'll be another media circus as to whether she'll run in '16?

If Romney wins the GOP nomination, then the results of the general literally do not matter anyway.

I think Palin and Paul BOTH are smart enough to see the big picture. In the long run, the establishment of a viable, liberty-focused third party is far more important than a slightly-less-Communist winning this one particular election. I'd love to see one of them run as a third party and kick Romney square in the nuts.

I honestly couldn't be too mad at a third party popping up (even if it was awful).

Plus Obama would win, which is good but only because everyone else* is a ****ing lunatic (except Romney, but then what's the ****ing difference).
