It's GREAT to be honest! But not at all costs. One has to be able to make the judgement when a lie is necessary.

I usually tell the truth, but I lied for the poll and voted "I lie constantly"

Sounds more like you shoulda highfived the 20 something percent instead.

The second option makes it sound like they do it for fun occasionally.
As if they tell the truth so often that a little lie is "exciting."

I very very rarely flat-out lie. That is, willingly claim something that I know is not true.
I often withhold the truth to get information, though...

That final option is brilliant. There's no reason to lie on the poll, so everyone who selects it to be a smart ass is actually selecting the right option.

Also I believe ~55% of GameFAQs only thinks they're that honest.

Uh... I don't see how being honest usually and only lying when it's necessary is that hard to achieve.

Hmmm, this is one of the polls where none of the options really fit. "Occasional little lie" doesn't really cover it, simply put often just can't tell your parents what you're doing or where you're going etc, ha it's for their own protection.

Too complex a subject for this mighty poll call me crazy.

It's funny how the people who pick the top option are lying and the people who pick the bottom option are telling the truth.

Sort of,

Me neither.

Most people still can't resist lying when it benefits them though.

Could you explain that, in what way would most people be lying to benefit themselves? It's not like your average person is a con artist.

I think most people would mostly lie to avoid problems and conflicts, not with personal gain in mind.

But yeah, there are plenty of good reasons to lie, and not just little lies, so neither option 2 or 3 work for me.

Me, I'm dishonest. And a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest. Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for. Because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly... stupid.

"Excuse me, is this your iPod? I found it under the seat you were sitting in when you got up."
"... Oh yeah! Thanks, I didn't even notice I'd dropped it!"

"So you're a volunteer firefighter, huh? Wow, that's so hot."
"Yeah, well, y'know... just doing what I can."

*argument about something*
*makes up fact and claims to have read it online*

I could go on all day. Most people will lie if they can get something out of it.

This entire post is a lie, he's just trying to benefit his side of the argument.

You're lying about me lying to benefit Kenshin's side of the argument in the hopes that this will sway him to side with you in future arguments.

Your being mislead Vlado, it's not actually 55%. Some of those people voted that option lying for their own benefit, to high five you and believe they voted for the right choice and not the honest one.
