Ending was alright, I knew people were going to die.. so I have a few questions.

I don't want anyone to die, and I know I made a couple wrong choices,,, so where did I go wrong?

I chose Tali to go through the vent and do that tech stuff with the door... She seemed like a decent girl for the job, but after seeing how it played out, I'm guessing I should have chose Legion... is that correct?

I chose Samara to lead the other group and she ended up living.. cool beans. But later in the mission after the Biotic barrier thing it asks you to pick another team leader and I figured I should choose someone else, so I picked Miranda (my only member who wasn't loyal) and she ended up dying. Now I don't really give 2 ****s about Miranda because she's terrible... but I would like to know who I should have picked for that... After seeing how it played out, I'm thinking maybe Grunt?

Also, does that mission play out the same every time, or is there an element to randomness of it? I used Zaeed to escort the crew (someone else I don't care about) so I'm just wondering if it will all play out the same if I go through it again with a couple different choices.

Ajnyways... awesome game... ending wasn't great... but that seems to happen with games in the middle, so I expected it.

Tali is a good choice for the vents, unless she isn't loyal or you messed up in the gameplay section.

Tali/Legion as hacker
Garrus as Team 2 leader (every time)
Samara/Jack as Forcefield person
Mordin to lead the survivors back to the ship

You can make all these decisions and still lose people, though. The most important factor in keeping everyone alive is going into the Suicide Mission with everyone loyal. If everyone is and you make the right squad selections, your rate of total survival should be around 100%.

Hmm... you can still save everyone even if a teammate isn't loyal, but it'll take some luck. Don't give Miranda any special assignments, and don't have her as part of Shepard's team for the final battle. I think your odds are around 50/50. That's if you care to run through the whole thing again.

Cool. Because I honestly thought it was a really cheap way to get rid of someone if it could ONLY be Legion as the hacker. I was a bit slow getting there and she complained about heating up a couple times.. but her bar was still mostly full when I got the last vent open. Guess I'll have to try it again..

I didn't consider using Garrus as team 2 leader because Garrus is my bro. Literally take him and Kasumi on every mission and I wanted him to be there at the end with me... Is there any other good choice for that?

Oh and I guess I didn't really make it clear... but Zaeed DID end up living. Is Mordin really a much better choice for that? I don't want to use him if he could end up dying at all, whereas I didn't talk to Zaeed for the entire game.

Loyal Jacob will always be fit to be squad leader.

Jacob should work, but I think Garrus is the top choice for that one. Also, Kasumi can also work as the hacker, but she's always in my party too. Never bench the Goto!

Loyal Mordin is the best choice as survivor escort because he has the highest odds of dying anywhere else. Any loyal character should survive being the escort.

I put Jacob in whenever it asked for a leader, and no one died (after trying once with Grunt, and having him get killed). Other than that, as said, Tali or Legion for the vents, as long as they're loyal, Jack as forcefield person, as long as she's loyal, Mordin to escort the survivors

Also, you have to go through the relay and start the mission within two turns of it opening up (meaning you can go do one mission beforehand. Which will probably be Legion's loyalty mission), or else Dr. Whatsherface and Kelly die

Ahh, I see. I didn't know people could just drop while being on the mission. I thought it was just my special assignments that killed them. I guess for round two I'll try Jacob as the leader and I'll keep Tali as the hacker.

I might still use Samara as one of my leaders though... I always feel the need to RP even if it's not the best choice. And she's just a total badass that I wish I could have used in the actual game.

For my last playthrough, I kept Legion alive by not even using him for the Suicide Mission. I just kept him asleep on the Normandy and woke him up after I beat the game. Was kinda surprised it worked, actually.

Oh **** no. I did Legion's mission and then went back to the Shadow Broker's base for my date with Liara... and Kelly died. She was definitely the one I was going for... so if she's gone for good now, I might as well start a new game. The Doctor lived though.

About new games... does my Paragon/Renegade stuff carry over?
