Well the problem with this contest is that with the limited eligibility there is going to be a TON of fodder. We of course want to get funny fodder while Bacon would rather the contest feature a ton of boring fodder.

My Japanese alter-ego. Hey all this is Bartz btw.
The thing is... we'd be fine with a character contest. At least I think most of us would. When we had the feedback, a majority just said either:
"Character battle"
or
"Character battle. But no Link!"
I'm fine with the contest -- a lot less unhappy about it than I was originally. But it has been a while since we've had a real character battle. (Okay, not THAT long, but assuming this is our contest now, it'll be a long time.)
Although it all came down to timing. I honestly hadn't even heard of BSUAJG until a few weeks ago, when Nio did that playthrough topic. The game's apparently been around for awhile, but it suddenly became a huge fad here on B8 right before the contest was announced.

It was fairly well-known before Nio's topic, the vast majority of people who have played it on this board had played it before then.
Granted, it might not have come to our minds immediately had it not been talked about recently.

Panthera posted... Who knew that when people wanted things, they wanted them to be done well!
It's almost like when someone asks for food, they're not going to be too thrilled when you give them moldy bread!
It's a kind of goofy concept anyway, I don't see how it's strange that people would be a bit disappointed by it.
This guy has the right idea. I mean, I'm not trying to sound like an ingrate, but... this contest is really starting to seem like a trolling attempt on Bacon's part!
