UberPyro64 posted... So another book/movie that didn't need a sequal is getting a sequal. People sure like milking cows don't they?
Yup, sure milking. He sure hopped on that, he clearly hasn't waited until he had a good idea that would make a good story or anything, I mean, it's not like he's had anything good recently....

Anyway I just don't think it needs a sequel. It seemed complete to me and and anything more seems like their milking. I think he should stick with Original stuff and only reference past work.
Whether you think writing a story with an existing character is a good idea or not, there's just no way this could possibly be characterized as milking.

Whether you think it needs a sequel or not is irrelevant, since this likely won't change the original at all, just use the characters for another story, and is in no way shape or form milking.

DeathChicken posted... If it's anywhere as good as Black House was as a sequel to Talisman, he should make more sequels
Well I think the problem is more getting good ideas for sequels. Most of his stories are pretty final.
I mean, of his stories, the only ones that come to mind with significant sequel potential are The Shining, It, maybe Insomnia and The Stand with a short story. That's about it.

agesboy posted... Pfft, The Stand could have another huge epic as a sequel. There's tons of potential there.
Potentially, especially considering some of the extras in the extended edition, but I'd rather see a short story covering how Flagg fares after the book.

We don't know how Flagg fares as we obviously can't say whether or not The Stand occurs before or after The Dark Tower >.>;
Actually...
SPOILERS In the last book of the Dark Tower series, they go to Maine in 1999 to save King, so he could complete the dark tower series. The Stand was written in 1978. Therefore The Stand had to come before Dark Tower!

huzzah
Except the Stand depicts the fall of civilization as we know it, and The Dark Tower depicts that very same civilization intact, along with plenty of other evidence suggesting that Flagg exists across multiple worlds.
Not to mention The Stand ends with Flagg on a deserted island >.>;

The ka-tet also visits the universe in which The Stand has happened
So The Stand has to have happened before The Dark Tower
