It was weird. I was able to recognize the "style" of each FF game even if I didn't recognize the actual song. The only ones I messed up were the FF games I wasn't as familiar with (FFI, FFIII, FFTA, FFX-2, and FFXII). If I didn't recognize the style at all, I generally just voted no.

Some of the choices for "no's" were kinda weird. How the heck is 5:20-5:30 supposed to sound like FF music, anyway? Oh well, the only FF I've beaten so far is FFVI, although I can only hope that I get to remedy that in a big way sometime soon...

Maybe it's because I've beaten that game twice and never thoughout its music was all that FF-ish.

It's definitely more FF-ish than other music tracks from the same game, though, I guess I can agree.

I was mostly going off of which tracks sounded "FF-ish" from my incredibly narrow personal experience with the series via FFVI, and then I happened to know a bunch more. Then of course there were tracks from non-FF games I've beaten which I recognized immediately, including the aforementioned 5:20-5:30 track (which always sounded to me more like something that could fit into a nature documentary better than it does for an epic story about a coalition of friends trying to save the world...I have that view on most music from the series that the 5:20-5:30 track hails from, as a matter of fact).

I screwed up a ton at the beginning; those non-FF square games tripped me up. I am ashamed at knowing 6:00-6:10 and not knowing 7:50-8:00.

I'm surprised I got the FFVII ones after 10 years. Never played FF13 and barely played FF9, 8 or 1, so that's my excuses for those.

Tales of Symphonia, Chrono Cross - Recognized the songs, couldn't place them went with FF and paid for it

46/54. Good quiz, awesome idea. All of the guesses I got wrong were me incorrectly guessing something wasn't FF. The only time I guessed something was FF and it wasn't, it was Vagrant Story. The others were just me not knowing the more recent FF games (X-2, XII, and XIII tripped me up the worst) and not having an ear for their style. I barely know the soundtracks to 7-9 at all, but their style is familiar to me. I didn't miss any songs having to do with something 1996 or earlier, recognizing elements of style in SNES music or earlier is way easier for me than 1997 or later. How would I ever confuse Contra or TMNT for FF?

The two songs with breaks (Silent Hill 2, forget the other I think StarTropics) were obvious non-FF even though I hadn't previously heard them. I could usually reliably say NO when it didn't sound much like FF other than the X-2 one. I NO'd that almost immediately, then had a good laugh when I found out what sounded like frantic crap was actually X-2.
