Suikoden II
Playing 1 first would definitely enhance it though. -- Thank you, Eddie Guerrero. http://img.imgcake.com/Icon/Punkjpguh.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

Suikoden 2 is the significantly better game, but playing Suikoden 1 improves the experience, and you can buy it at a reasonable price. Go with 1 if you have to choose between the two.
If money isn't an issue, there's no reason not to play both, especially considering how short (and great) both are. -- Our eyes were removed For our own safety. ... Copied to Clipboard!

If you only play one, play S2.
But I do recommend playing both (and playing S1 first). S1 is pretty cheap to acquire, and very short, so it's worth your time if you want to get into the series. -- The RPG Duelling League: www.rpgdl.com An unparalleled source for RPG information and discussion ... Copied to Clipboard!

Logically, you should pick #1, since it's cheaper. Then, if you love it, move on to playing S2, as well.

Only playing one, Suikoden II. Both are worth it, though, and also pretty short.

Money is not an issue with the way I'll be playing them.... Time is an issue, though
So I guess I'll start with the first one if it's worth it and pretty short -- A Fudgesicle is a frozen, ice cream-like snack. OR IS IT ... Copied to Clipboard!

1's only like 18 hours long if you don't know what you're doing.
Less if you do. 2's the much better game but playing 1 first will enhance the experience with 2. -- http://img149.imageshack.us/img149/2664/7b7aaa038007832d461b28c.jpg ... Copied to Clipboard!

Yeah, I think my fastest 100% completion run for Suiko1 was... seven or eight hours? Granted, I knew the game basically inside and out by then, but it isn't a long game.

Yeah, Suikoden 1 only took me about 12 hours to finish. Suikoden 2 took about 20.

The first one is very short. Even shorter if you abuse Chinchirorin.

Definitely both.
While SII has a better story, SI has more epic war battles, a better HQ, and among other things. SII takes place years after SI, so there are many returning characters. The two Suikodens have a very similar style, so if you like one, you will like the other, might as well start with SI. -- KOS-MOS: There is no connection between my current systems and your life functions. ... If you had to choose only one, pick Suikoden I since I know you'll love it and will definitely get the second one also. Suikoden II is better in every aspects but will be infinitely more enjoyable if you beat the first one first.

I've played over a 100 RPGs and there are only four RPGs which I rate a cut above the rest. Looking at my list you'll probably mark me as a FF fanboy but that is not the case. Infact if you see my fullist, you'll know so. Anyways that doesn't matter. Point is Suikoden II is one of them
Here's my Top 4 01. Final Fantasy VII 02. Final Fantasy VIII 03. Suikoden II 04. Final Fantasy X That being said I can't possibly imagine any RPG gamer not liking Suikoden II. However as much as I love FF7, 8 and 10, I can still see why there may be people who would feel otherwise (proven). It's just a matter of choice. Suikoden II however breaks that barrier, well at least in my opinion it does. Word of advice mate. GET BOTH! Rob a bank if you have to. Seriously you're missing out on an experience like none other. And while you're at it get 3 and 5 as well. Skip 4 and Tactics unless you've a lot of patience like me. 3 may be a toss-up as well but hey I loved it ^_^ -- Rock n' Roll and Glam Metal...
