Like, it's like they wait for me to leave to upgrade the school and that since grade school.
When I left grade school the months after they bought all those new swings and basketball nets and everything, we didn't have all that ! We had half-burrowed tractor tires and swings.
When I left high-school they upgraded the green boards to smart boards, added a recreational area with baby foot and ping pong tables (my school was small so it's something)
And then I left CEGEP (which is what we attend in Quebec around 16-19 y'o, after high school), 5 months later I come back and they added a freaking bar to the school (200 people school very small) with free Strawberry Daiquiris, Piña Coladas, Mojitos and whatnot, and the barmen are the teachers, which is pretty funny.
Anyway, feels weird. I guess once I'll leave university they'll get Stargates.

Yeah, literally the semester after I transferred, my first college got to building two new structures, a big-ass fountain, repaved most of the roads, and fixed up existing doors and stuff.
Did nothing to fix the horrible parking situation though, so that still sucks.

my elementary school has gotten some new equipment and buildings to it since i was there. middle school seems about the same as it was. first high school i went there the year it opened, so really it could only get worse. the rest of the schools i've been to...i either am unable to check up on or are about the same as when i left them.
some change over time seems fairly normal though...

There is no shame in not knowing; the shame lies in not finding out
My elementary school had a badass paper mache lifesized(ish) T-Rex in the library. It was still there at least 6 years ago when I went to my sister's school play, I hope it's still there.
My sister who's 5 years younger told me that when my Grade or so left my high school, the kids who came in got dumber, and the teachers stopped caring. She commutes to a different school and when she asks her friends who go to my school, they never know what she is talking about.

My elementary school is basically the same as when I left (at least on the outside). My middle school was crap, and I'm sure nothing was changed because the kids there are dumb as hell (worst test scores in the province 10 years running). My high school was upgraded the year before we got there, and after I left they just installed one of those big electronic screens they have in stadiums on the outside of the school, announcing sports games and stuff. Seems like a giant waste of money. And then all the best teachers were hand-picked and transferred to the new high school on another side of town which is like some sort of super-school with all the best teachers and athletes in the city.
My elementary school received plenty of new playground equipment within a couple years after leaving but I think that the inside has just received minor improvements outside of installing new technology.
My intermediate school was brand new (I was in the inaugural class) when I came there and I doubt it has changed much outside of, once again, new technology
I have not been inside my old middle school since I left, but I doubt it has changed at all except for new computers.
High school was hit hard after I graduated. Several of the major public school systems in Columbus had financial troubles and they were at a critical point just after I left. Many were unable to get a levy passed, so they had to make substantial cuts. High schools are always hit harder than elementary/intermediate/middle, so the place has probably regressed quite a bit since I have left.
My college, Xavier University, has transformed tremendously since I have arrived. We have half a dozen or so new buildings and the construction projects just keep on coming. It's too bad that I'm a senior because unless I go here for graduate school, I won't see it all be completed as a student, but I will probably visit sometime down the road to see how things ended up turning out

Literally 1-2 months after I left my community college, I went back and noticed a new building, a completed building, new signs, and a ton of other stuff. Of course, they did nothing to the parking.
