I had my PS3 on downloading something, and when I looked back on it the screen was black. I turned it off, on again and it was black. I can see video with the AVI cables, but setting on HDMI is no good. I used both HD ports in the back of the TV and three HDMI cables can it's still black. I use my 360 and it displays in HD fine in the same port and same cable. I don't understand what's going on, it was working absolutely perfect until like a half hour ago. Can anyone please help?

You beat yourself up with your past. Don't blame yourself, blame the world. Blame God. Blame me.
Try what Weaku suggested, and if that doesn't work, then (using an AVI connection), back up everything you can from the hard drive, and go to System Settings > Factory Reset.
It'll wipe your hard drive, but might fix any glitches that have wormed their way into the system. Worked for me when it stopped launching any games (it could still recognise the type of disc, and even play the XMB animation on PS3 games, but trying to actually play a disc would just give a black screen).
