I just read all five Spider Island issues from this week.
Cloak and Dagger and Deadly Hands of Kung Fu were really good (especially C&D). Spider-Girl was pretty average and Venom #8 was ridiculous. That battle at the end with Venom, Cap, and the Spider Queen was preposterous. Those sex jokes were a bit much. But ASM #672 was fantastic. It was a really funny issue and it was a perfect ending for this event. My favorite panel was when Peter told Kaine (pretending to be Spider-Man) to say something. Peter: Just hanging with my pal, Spidey. Say something. Kaine: Um, wallopin' web-snappers. Peter: Stop. I just read the ending of Spider-Island and it was SO GOOD. Mainly because of the Pete/MJ chemistry. It really filled my heart with hope that they'll be back together soon and we can forget about that horrible horrible Quesada era.
Then again, it could also be false hope, and Pete just goes back to his life with Carlie and MJ goes a separate way, leaving me PISSED OFF.
