$8 for 80 pages is a better deal than most books! if you're worried about cost, just drop a book you don't feel so strongly about.

yeah, but you just bought the previous two issues last week. that's a lot of content in a short amount of time. i picked mine up the week before last because it sold out at my LCS before I realized it was out, but it's shipping on time. DHP 4 came out September 21st.

Only a few in, started with the ones I didn't personally buy. Only one none of us bought was Legion.

Birds of Prey was better but I still think it's one of the least interesting books of the whole 52 lot.

Catwoman was also better, pretty dark book.

Nightwing definitely feels like an early 00's Nightwing comic, but in a good way.

Red Hood and the Outlaws #2 was great, and looked beautiful. If you were one of the very vocal opponents of the first issue, I still urge you to give it a shot.

Just read Batman and Justice League. Both great. JL was a big step up I thought but that might be just because more of the team was there and the group dynamic was really fun. Hal and Barry are great together.

So I thought the Batman Year One movie was pretty good. I also bought the Arkham City book, probably gonna read it tomorrow.

yeah, i thought it was crazy. my lcs is right at the heart of downtown vancouver, so they probably had at least 200 copies. i don't know how that book sells out in a day! meanwhile, dozens of copies of batman and wonder woman were on the shelf!

DHP 5 sold out too but that's on my pull list now.

no idea. when I swung by around 8PM I was just looking around, talking to staff, and I was curious where Fear Itself was, and they told me it sold out. I'm kinda curious and I'm looking for a scan, but I guess it hasn't been scanned yet. which, again, is strange.

*spoilers*

Iron Man shows up with weapons, literally hands them out all boring like, there's some poorly written witty banter as the Worthy get their asses kicked by the Mighty in the least climactic way possible, and then Thor gets a giant sword from somewhere and stabs the Serpent (who is now literally a giant snake) in the head with it, then keels over and dies. Also Cap gets to weird Thor's hammer for a panel

In the epilogue, Iron Man and the dwarf guys fix Cap's shield using some Uru stuff, so now I guess Cap has a shield made of Adamantium/Vibranium/Goddamn Uru Metal, but there's a big crack in it that he decides to keep to "add character"

also in the epilogue Hulk literally squeezes Banner by the head in his mind which somehow seperates the two. He dumps banner (who is in a hospital gown hooked up to an IV somehow) out in the desert

and Sin gets picked up by some weird evil guys who do evil things to her to make her stop going through withdrawal from losing her god powers. wut.

also in the aftermath is a funeral for thor, but odin is too sad to go so he just runs and seals asgard behind him, leaving the asgardians stranded on earth AGAIN

Superman has basically knocked good ole steve Rogers out of first place ofr me if he can keep this up.

Ha, I've never read a Legion book, and the previews of those do seem a bit incomprensible.

So I just heard on Smodcast that Scott Mosier (Kevin Smith's producer buddy, Clerks etc) wrote three episodes of the upcoming Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon, groovy. Says Paul Dini, Bendis, etc were fun to work with, I'm more interested in this cartoon now.

Alpha Flight, All Winners Squad, and Iron Man 2.0 have been canceled.

Why announce Alpha Flight as an ongoing rather than a 12 issue limited run at the Toronto Con 6 weeks ago if you're thinking of cancelling it before the original announced run is complete? Yet another case of dumb comic book companies. Oh well. I'm not upset that the book is cancelled. I enjoyed it, but there's little beyond referential humour and nostalgia.

JOURNEY INTO MYSTERY #633 - No creative team behind Journey into Mystery? Hope that's just an error.

THE MIGHTY THOR #10 - oh yeah, this is a thing. this probably shouldn't be a thing given the ending of Fear Itself, even if we knew he wasn't dead. It's a meaningless death meant to give some gravity to a story, but there was nothing in the story to support it, so in the end, the reader won't care. And the death was done so poorly too! He dies because a prophecy we just learned about says he has to die, so he dies in an unspectacular fashion. damn you fear itself. you had promise and had some good side stories early on.

INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #512 - I jumped off during FI. I don't think I'm jumping back on, especially with Larroca on art. Looks like Casanova is the only Fraction title for me.

SECRET AVENGERS #21 & #21.1 - Why is this book getting two point ones?

AVENGERS: THE CHILDREN’S CRUSADE #9 (OF 9) - read this book, everyone. it's the best avengers book.
