My girlfriend started watching it a while ago, and I wasn't really into at first, but I paid attention to it somewhat while she had it on. Once it got to season 2, I noticed it got funnier. Now we're on season 3 and I can't stop watching. It's so hilarious. All of the characters are great. I really enjoy Ben and Chris too, I hope they stick around.

Yeah that's pretty much what I noticed, and my girlfriend actually said once she got to the second season that it got so much better at that point, and that's when I started paying more attention. I was hooked by the middle of it.

It's definitely my favorite comedy on TV at the moment. I'm still in the process of catching up though (in middle of Season 3). I started from the beginning, and I liked it from the beginning, but it's definitely getting better as it goes. Apparently its ratings are pretty bad though...

No amount of planning will ever replace dumb luck.
Parks & Recs has been so damn good since the start of season 2. Probably my favourite American comedy right now. It's either that or Louie.

Love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And well change the world.
S1 wasn't THAT bad, and it certainly provides some good context for the characters so as that for an optimal Parks and Rec viewing experience, I have to recommend watching it first but for the realistic scenario of trying to get someone into the show and to actually watch it, it's really a necessity to recommend its skipping.
