Description: A young martial artist who uses a variety of physical attacks as well as attacks that use spiritual energy. Despite having a good sense of right and wrong, he has little to no regard for the institutional law, and if he feels it is necessary to carry out justice, he'll annihilate an entire city block. A sucker for a pair of knockers, and his chivalrous nature leads women to believe he is a pervert.

General fighting style is wild, wide-range hand-to-hand combat interspersed with energy blasts

Special Techniques:

Sacred Sword: Concentrates energy into the form of a blade around his arm
(can be expanded into)Sacred Shuriken: Creates 4 Sacred Swords that form a large shuriken which can then be thrown at long range.

Burning Soul Ignition: Burns his spiritual energy and converts it into chemical energy, greatly increasing his physical abilities

Name: Fortuna (Wheel of Fortune)
Age: 17
Alignment: (True) Neutral

Description: Fortuna is one of the stronger of the Major Arcana. It was an android designed for warfare like the rest of its family. After The Emperor revolted against its human creators, leading the most of the Major Arcana and an army of machines only a few stood against them. In particular Fortuna was one of them, following The Fool along with The Sun and The Magician. After The Fool destroyed The Emperor The Sun revealed its true nature and quickly took power and revived the rebellion. The Magician followed its longest companion this time and joined in the rebellion. Meanwhile, The Fool decided to oppose the rebellion again. During the 2nd rebellion Fortuna decided to step out and become neutral. It was in part due to the fact that it refused to fight any longer, especially for the sake of humans. But more importantly Judgment, who was previously neutral, joined the rebellion. Fortuna now wanders the world leading a rather mundane and human-like lifestyle.

Personality: Though genderless Fortuna thinks of itself as a masculine character and occasionally corrects people to use masculine pronouns. Its mentality is that of an average adult male. It has a bad habit of enjoying gambles and random wagers, the slimmer the odds the better. The personality of Fortuna seems to manifest a human obsession, like many other Major Arcana. Its personality is otherwise average for a human being. In neutral fashion it has a tendency to avoid conflicts or taking sides and only seeks to further its own interests, which are usually related to money and material possessions. Fortuna is easily swayed by money and has worked with less than credible organizations in the past.

Abilities: Like the rest of the Major Arcana Fortuna is also constructed of nanomachines that improve Fortuna's combat abilities and repair it after every battle. It has monstrous strength, speed, durability, etc. but its speed and agility in particular are extremely high. Besides otherworldly physical attributes Fortuna's sensors allow it to pinpoint any movement in a kilometer radius. Its primary weapons are rings of energy that it generates from several points on its body. The attributes of the rings can be altered including power, shape, hardness, etc. Though they're usually not visible there are several slots on the spinning rings that randomly determine a weapon once the rings stop spinning. They take various forms such as swords, scythes, pistols, rifles, or even a high powered anti-material beam cannon.

Fortuna's signature weapons are simply the rings in their regular form. They can be distended to several meters long and act as a high powered saw, easily slicing through most basic materials. In this form, they also allow Fortuna to fly for short periods.

Other favorite forms include an incredibly powerful beam cannon designed to destroy heavily armored targets; a pair of katars; a scythe; pistols; and a large semi-spherical shield.

You're better off reading the thing, really. But since two people asked...

Settings currently used:

- Ioria, a port city on a cliff by the sea, latest chapter set the story somewhere after Midnight, with the city in an uproar over a jailbreak. A Fantasy setting. Characters in this setting include Luka the Iorian Knight, Kayen the Drifter, Reid Bellcry, Valeria Nyx, Catastrophy, Judgement, and two Eternal Eyes (one is a "god" brought along by the Sea Lords, another is the Grand Inquisitor of Ioria). Ioria city under the protection of the panther god Io. An order of were-panther Knights of Ioria protect it, and the 4 strongest are the Elite Guardians, protecting the Priest, the center of the Iorian city and religion. Currently targeted by 12 of the 13 Sea Lords, the strongest pirates in the world, and they're 3 days from arriving with their full fleet. So far, no one knows about the fleet fast approaching the city. Also targeted by King Grogan, the ruler of a kingdom far, FAR to the east, who is amassing his army. Luka's sister is one of Grogan's.... lady friends, and is pregnant, and about to give birth in a few days. The Iorians recently caught one of Grogan's men just outside the city's gate, so they know something is wrong. The Grand Inquisitor of Ioria is also enacting his own plans to overtake the city when the Priest inevitably dies (all the priests die on their 9th birthday, and this one only has 3 days left in his life.) and there is no one to replace him. Catastrophy and Judgement know about this Eternal Eye. Somehow.

I'm currently planning on using Halo in this setting. I was planing on starting a 4 way war, between the Grand Inquisitor, the Knights, The Sea Lords, and Grogan's army. The two EEs will exhaust each other's forms, and the remaining one will be much easier to beat.

- London, 2011. A seemingly normal dimension, but underneath, various people with different powers appear here. Fawassa, Sae, Cody, XIII the mercenary, norenxaq the dragon, and an Eternal Eye (an aged man) is here. Latest chapter had a restaurant burn down due to... unfortunate coincidences. The Eternal Eye here has a high level hypnotism, and is currently gathering people to his gathering for an unknown purpose. norenxaq and XIII aren't exactly there yet, but they're OTW on a plane to London, and norenxaq is after the Eternal Eye, and XIII is hired by him to help. In London itself, Fawassa, Sae, and Cody are hypnotized by the EE to think it's a good idea to come to his gathering. A few hundred years ago, there was another EE here, a feral western dragon mage, but norenxaq killed that one.

Was planning on including the Doctor here and mess up EE's plan so bad, and the EE here will be smarter at fighting than all the other ones so far.

- An unnamed city. Time unknown. Urban modern setting. Tenma, Torv, Crimson, Keiji, Morgan, and Mega are here. ... not much happened here, actually. Tenma and Morgan fought, with Tenma merely testing Morgan. Tenma can sense something is wrong with the city, however. Tenma was planeshifted here through unknown means and purposes.

An idea I had was to have the city host a combat tournament throughout the city. There seems to be plenty of martial artists here, so why not? Veda might fit. The source of the problem could be a Genius Loci EE, a sentient city, and it's using the tournament to gain more recognition, money, and people to stay there, and to slowly expand.

- Infinite Space timeline. Space-Age setting. Not really that important anymore, just used to get an EE form and show what it's like.

- Rosswell Facility. Present Day. Super Hero setting. Reid was originally from here before he shifted dimensions. Only characters here so far is the little girl Eternal Eye with electric powers, and Dark Lightning. She's currently controlling the nervous systems of various super-powered beings, making them her friends, including Dark Lightning.

Planning on having people who've finished with their side of the story to shift here and stop her. This EE is pretty early, and planning to have this one recant her ways. Before dying. Also planning to include a background character from Reid, Subject Amazing Flight. Fortuna might fit in here, but on the other hand, a separate world could also fit.

- Somewhere in Time. A time-traveler (and a hitch-hiker), Treble Note and Lilandra are currently on their way to a source of time anomaly. They also went tot he end of timeline and learned vague hints of an Eternal Eye.

saveus_maria had plans for them and Sgt. Sphinx, which is why I'm holding off on using them.

- I have some vague ideas for the final EE, battle, and setting, but at the rate we're going, it's a long ways away, so don't worry about it.

But like I said, it's all a collaboration, feel free to give ideas on where to go next. It'd be a mess if we just write whatever the hell we want for the characters without having it fit with everybody's plans.

cool yeah going to get around to reading whats been posted so far

also meant to ask if it would be ok to use what has been posted so far / current plot to help in making background story + if it would be ok to mention other characters in background story (possibly having met them or heard of them / whatever)

like for example with that pirate lord thing you mentioned I could make a background with being part of a specific lords crew or an intro / mini chapter where I stumble on to a ship or a background story where the drifter was around for some bad event and followed him (just examples not sure what I am going with)

would that be ok or would you want backgrounds / intro mini chapters that have nothing to do with the established plot thus far / unrelated to other chars

just curious what is ok for when I make post

Other than EE... there's Keiji representing Chaotic Evil, King Grogan the greedy bastard, and the Sea Lords. But more characters and villains are welcome. As long as they make sense and you don't drop them into the story for no reason at all. Most of EE's puppets are individual bad guys who got a power boost, anyway.

For the city, I doubt High Priestess is Keiji. ***** is crazy, and doesn't strike me as the type to contemplate her own actions and look within. That leaves Morgan and Tenma... Morgan seems the most likely one. Chariot represents temporary victory, IIRC, so... Keiji and Morgan fit. Keiji I guess. Death. If we're going with non-tarot meanings, Keiji fits it the most. But in Tarot it represents the end of one thing and the beginning of another, so Tenma applies too. Blank for EE, what card is best... anyway I'm going with High Priestess Morgan, The Chariot Keiji, and Death Tenma.

6... I'm guessing London. The first 3 cards are Sae Ra, Fawassa, and Cody, but not sure which is which. Wheel of Fortune means fate, luck, and all that jazz, but usually good things. That said, not a lot of good things happened in the chapter... Fawassa is the happiest, while Sae Ra finally had her menu up but her luck went down the drain after. Star represents distant hope... Fawassa and Cody fit. Hanged Man... sacrifice, inability to take action, etc. Cody and Sae Ra seems to fit. Final guess, Wheel of Fortune Fawassa, Hanged Man Sae Ra, Star Cody. Not too sure about it though. Going with Fool is XIII, Strength is norenxaq. Fool could also apply to norenxaq, but on the other hand, Strength does not apply to XIII, who's insane. Magician is the EE who seems to be showing solutions to everyone's problems. Also, hypnotism powers, a stage magician's bread and butter.

Biggest stage, Ioria. Emperor Grogan, Empress Rynn. Emperor in both literal and tarot meanings, Empress because she's pregnant. Hierophant is the Grand Inquisitor, a leader, and cares only for the many, not the one. Tower is the EE with the Sea Lords, bringing chaos when they arrive. The rest... are murky. The Devils and Temperances could be Judgement and Catastrophy, with the calmer persona being the Temperance, and the nutjob personas the Devil. Sun... Reid? He seems the happiest with Ioria. Applies to Kayena as well. The World... hmm. Not sure. Gilang's a background character, but he's the most competent. There's Valeria, but no way in hell is she The World. Kayen seems to be the one most at ease with himself. On the other hand, The World could just represent the entire city of Ioria. Lovers is Luka, she's passionate about being a Knight, and she'll have a choice coming up.

Well, my basic reading from Wikipedia lead to these, and often I didn't remember all that much about the characters. Tenma was the Chariot due to well, him fighting, mostly alone. His victories are won through hard work. High priestess for Morgan because the main line on the page was secrets hidden and revealed, which given he abilities seemed to fit. Keiji is death because she wants to end everything, and she views a completely destroyed world a perfect one. New beginning? Not really. But still. Blank card is because the EE there hasn't been introduced.

I had it as Cody Hanged Man due to sorta sacrificing his life to chase the books, Sae as the wheel for no real reason, and Fawassa as the star because sea cucumbers are pretty regenerative. XIII is the fool, just because of the insanity really, and Strength for norenxaq because while he is greatly powerful, his greatest strength is internal really. Magician for EE seemed to fit really well there.

You got the emperor and empress exactly right, as well as the two EEs. Temperance is for Catastrophy because a lot of his focus is on holding back Order, which is obsessive and focuses on one single course of action. Sun was Reid, partially because his powers are based on science which has to do with the conscious mind. Lovers refers to both Kyle and Luka, the World was the priest who's about to die, and that's about it. Remember, I based most of this on an extremely brief reading of wikipedia, but I'm glad that I did well enough that it could mostly be guessed.

This all may or may not have been spurred into action by me playing Persona 3 portable >_>

Just gonna mention some stuff about Now.

He can only see what is happening right this instant in causal time (in this case, he sees chapters in the order we do more or less), and he has to concentrate hard to keep a memory, and even then it lasts maybe a few minutes, tops. His ability to warp people/conjure things is actually just the power to shift someone's perspective to another timeline, which means technically Tenma is also still back in his home continent, but that's no longer the main timeline for him. The conjuring was just shifting to a timeline where the objects were there. Now himself can view any timeline he likes, which gives him great ability to know things, it's just that the knowledge fades swiftly, so understanding is rare for him. The reason his view of the present can look at different points in time... Well, the present is a tricky term to define. It changes depending on where you are, how fast you're going, etc. And time travel makes everything act even weirder. He can't show up somewhere he isn't already at, but he can talk to anyone he wants to.

And I have no idea where he came from. It was a spur of the moment character creation >_>.
