6. Beauty and The Beast
From: Beauty and The Beast

Angela Lansbury's voice is divine. This is such a classic, and rightfully so too. Ever just the same, ever a surprise.. The scene where it's played is also very beautiful and romantic *pink heart bubbles floods the topic*. Watching them dance is so cuuuute, why is Beast so cutely awkward. And why the hell is Belle so beautiful and perfect.

*sigh*

I like Beauty and The Beast a lot, especially since Belle's my favorite Disney princess. It's a great film, and thankfully the cinema industry think so too. It truly is a tale as old as time.

Thanks, everyone. Although our tastes might be different, but we all enjoy Disney music, and this topic's mainly intended for us to share the love.
Ranking every Disney song would be quite hard though, especially if you include TV, instrumentals, and direct-to-DVD movies (what do they got? a lot of sand. We got a hot crustacean band).

4. Under The Sea
From: The Little Mermaid

Oh yeah! This is such a classic and it's easy to see why. Catchy and groovy and festive and things. I don't even know where to begin.

Wait, I do know where to begin. My love for Disney songs actually started with Kingdom Hearts 2. You know the mini-games at Atlantica? Well, I like them quite a lot back then, so I went to...listen to the real songs. Legally. And the rest is history.

Oh, this is a topic.

While I disagree with many of your rankings, I am pleased that you are pleased with the Lion King Broadway Musical song. Shadowlands is one of my favorite Disney songs, if not just because it puts lyrics on one of my favorite melodies from the movie (also, in the Lion King video game, it's the melody in the first level which gives me such sweet memories). Seeing as you enjoyed Shadowlands, I must throw a recommendation out for He Lives in You. I may be biased towards it since He Lives in You was my favorite moment from the (absolutely amazing) musical, but the song is pretty great standing alone.

Oh. That's what I get for skimming the topic horribly. I prefer the musical version, but I doubt it's much of a difference that would significantly raise the ranking. And like I said, I'm biased from having actually seen the musical, so the song takes me back to the blissful moment.

So me and this topic differ greatly, but at least Shadowlands is #10.

I know Dance of the Robes and Fortune Favors the Brave from Aida and Home from Beauty and the Beast (Broadway) were in my noms and haven't shown up. Which would mean either I nominated all of the Top 3 (which would be awesome) or something got left off the list.

Pretty sure I had a couple others but the four I remember for sure were those three and Shadowlands. I was one of the last people nominating if that helps.

looking so it ended up at 106 instead. Is you nomination list in order when they were nommed by any chance? If so they should have been right around Shadowlands.

Eh, I guess I like musicals. I haven't seen many in my time, so I don't have much data to base this on. I saw the Lion King (amazing) in Des Moines about two years ago, and then I saw Mary Poppins (it was good I guess, but I haven't seen the actual movie) on Broadway just this summer. I most want to see The Book of Mormon, and was sad I couldn't see it while I was in New York City. Recently I've been enjoying Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, too, if that means anything, which I'm sure it does considering you are a Joss Whedon fanboy, if memory serves.

61. Fortune Favors The Brave
From: Aida

It reminds me of I'll Make A Man Out of You. So much. Well, except it has less sentimental values to me. But it's not a bad song.

41. Home
From: Beauty and The Beast: The Musical

Huh. I wonder why I don't like this too much. It's kinda repetitive? Yeah, that's it. I'd prefer a bit more variation. It's still pretty great. And wow, the singer is Meg's VA? o_0

24. Dance of The Robes
From: Aida

Aidaaaa Aidaaaa. It is pretty awesome. But the Aida parts were kinda cheesy to me for some reason XP Perhaps it works better in context!

Anyway, this Aida play sounds rather interesting, I didn't even know of its existence until this topic.

2. Part of Your World
From: The Little Mermaid

Flipping your fins you don't get too far, legs are required for jumping, dancing~

Ah, this song. I love it so much. When I was little, I even listened to the more foreign versions - Greek, Hebrew, things like that. Jodi Benson's (and the dubbers in general) voice is just so beautiful. I can still somewhat sing-a-long to the song in English, Japanese 1989, Japanese 19999, French, and Hebrew.

The song tells us about Ariel's curiosity and uncertainty. It does so in a very effective way too. Yeah, not much to add here. You all know what the song is like.

So let's talk about The Little Mermaid a bit. As I've said, my first exposure to Disney songs was from Kingdom Hearts' Atlantica. I think I watched The Little Mermaid for the first time...like, one year ago? Or maybe even this year! It's a great story, and one of my favorites.
