Oh man I just read this week's Batwoman.

The entire thing was two page spreads and all the ads were crammed in the back. SO GOOD. Plus it was just an awesome in general.

Oh man Wednesday is loaded, biggest week for me in a while.

Savage Dragon 177 and Invincible 86, my favs. Catwoman 4 and Batman 4, my favs of the new 52. Daredevil, X-Men, FF, Wonder Woman, GI Joe Cobra, Nightwing, 2000AD of course, Conan Road of Kings, lotsa great stuff.

I know there is a one-shot crossover but I can't remember one of the main series with him in it.

Give it a whirl and find out, lemme tellya. It's the most impressive run in the past 20 years of comics. Hell, it's been running for the past 19 or so. Everything you can do in a comic, Erik Larsen has done it, and then some.

OH MY GOD TMNT #5 IS SO F***ING GOOD

They show Hamato Yoshi's past in this issue.

He was married to Tang Shen with four sons. He and Oroku Saki were both members of the Foot Clan but Saki was leading them down a path of evil so Yoshi left the clan. Saki declared it treason and had his assassins kill Tang Shen. Yoshi goes berserk and kills them all before they can hurt his sons.

With her final wish, she begged Yoshi to forget about revenge and take their sons and flee. So he does this and while they are taking a break from training, Saki and his assassins show up and f***ing kill all five of them (beheads them).

But somehow their story continues.

It ends with Splinter giving them all different color bandanas and Raph gets his weapons as well. Donatello asks how Splinter knew Raph's favorite color was red and Splinter sits them down to tell him their tale.

So, hopefully next issue is going to explain some things. Either way, this series is just getting better and better. Already my favorite series ever.

Yeah I saw that later on. Also, Batwing was completely different. I guess that's a problem. <_<

Still, it irritates me that there's chunks of the Batman, Inc. story that are now "non-canon," even though Batman Inc. still exists in the New 52, I think. I wonder if the Leviathan series is also going to take place pre-Flashpoint, since that seems to be the only way it could really work. It could serve as an "ending" to Batman's story in the old DCU, too.

Either way I can't wait for the Leviathan series because that issue was SO ****ING AMAZING. I missed Morrison on Batman. Action Comics is good but it just can't compare.

But hold on, what chunks of Batman, Inc. are non-canon? I heard no such thing. I thought it was still all in tact.

Well as much "non-canon" as the rest of the stuff before the New 52, I guess. It still all fits in fine with that universe. What I'm saying is that how things went down *after* Flashpoint is still kind of up in the air and it's a bit sloppy.

It's mostly minor details like the Bruce/Selina stuff in the first few issues would be strange since now Catwoman doesn't know who Batman is (at least I think so, I didn't read any Catwoman past the first two issues). I'm also not sure if stuff like Dickbats and Return of Bruce Wayne (which was Bruce's reason for starting Batman, Inc.) still "happened" after Flashpoint. The Batwing stuff is kind of a big deal now that he has his own ongoing series, though.

I guess it doesn't matter all that much but I had forgotten how confusing the relaunched continuity was until now.

One of the reasons why I'm still against the relaunch and wish it would eventually go back to how it was.

I'm pretty sure it was confirmed that Return of Bruce Wayne happened even after Flashpoint, and Dick's time as Batman definitely happened.

Eh, I don't know about wanting everything to go back to the old DCU. There's still a lot of pretty awesome stuff going on as a result of the reboot: Action, Animal Man, Swamp Thing, Frankenstein, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Demon Knights, and Flash is pretty cool...bottom line is that I'm reading a LOT more books now than I was before the relaunch.

Then again, all of that besides the Supes/WW/Flash stuff could easily have been pulled off without a relaunch. Which, I suppose, is really what DC was after.
