Basically, some people went through existing spells and matched them with what duskblades tended to have already. Basically adds some variety to duskblades since they get so few total spells as is. Would certainly help me flavor my duskblade.

That list looks pretty legit. At a glance I don't see anything overpowered, just a few things that boost the Duskblade's power without forcing him to go Shadowpouncer. I'm not Han, but I'd allow it.

I hadn't considered prestige classes yet, though I am considering taking a prismatic dragon bloodline (which i will need to run by han too, i found it in the 3.5 homebrew on the dnd wiki and it seemed roughly in line with other dragon bloodlines and would suit my character fairly well)

any prestige classes recommendations? if i see any i like, i'll give them a more thorough looking at :p

Alright, first my own stuffs: couple changes I'd like to make to the Blade of Kings' progression:

-Swap Smoking for Discipline Weapon (Diamond Mind). Smoking was a blatant power grab for easy miss chance and Discipline just fits.
-Swap Displacement for Wings of Cover, at-will. This is a powerful spell that prevents LoS for one ability. Effectively, it's a trade: instead of 50% miss chance all day erryday, it's no-selling abilities when I have a swift action to burn and lack of LoS would screw them over. Thematically, it fits better, too, since Rei's build plan will get her wings in due time.
-Swap Holy out for Discipline Weapon (Tiger Claw) and Magebane (Complete Arcane). Nothing about the Blade of Kings is particularly holy, really, but a lot of it is martial and and making it a soul-eater fits with the whole Soul concept of Ordalia.

So the final build would be...

Legacy Abilities:

Least:

Levels 5, 6 and 7: Wraithstrike, At-will.
Levels 8 and 9: Lesser Soulbound Weapon enhancement (+1)
Level 10: Comprehend Languages or Lightbringer

Lesser:

Level 11: Weapon Enhancement: Discipline Weapon (Diamond Mind) Weapon Enhancement (+1)
Levels 12 and 13. Discipline Weapon (Tiger Claw) and Magebane (CArc) Weapon Enhancement (+2).
Levels 14, 15, 16: Vital Assault (Su)

Greater:

Level 17: Wings of Cover, At-Will
Levels 18, 19, 20: Body Outside Body, 2/day


And then the quests, which I forgot to do before. As per Han's request these are pretty vague so he has room to fit them in:

-Rise to the Challenge: The Akaff Gantritor is a blade that mighty warriors have wielded, and bits and pieces of their souls have remained with the blade. The souls of the deceased warrior-kings demand that the wielders proves himself to them by defeating challenged he should not be able to defeat.
-Accept the Mantle: Only someone with the right and the ability to rule may attempt to awaken the powers dormant within the Blade of Kings. This could take many forms - leader of a mercenary company, king of a kingdom, guildmaster...so long as the wielder is recognized and accepted as a ruler in some way he can attempt to tap into the powers of the Blade of Kings.
-All In: To truly awaken the powers of the Blade of Kings, the wielder must bind his soul to it. Not simply by accident or happenstance, as it happened to most previous wielders, but by tying his destiny to it. This process is not truly natural, and outside forces will attempt to prevent it. What going all in exactly implies is up to Han, as I want to be surprised by it.

Blech, this is proving harder than I thought. I found gish PrCs, sure, but pretty much all of them use ToB maneuver granting to go with the spellcasting. I don't think that's what you want...

That's actually kind of the point of it! Look at the Hold Spell feature closely. With it, you can launch two spells a turn if you Channel the spell. This means that you're basically getting the Dusky's level 13 feature like six levels early, allowing you to head for something else instead of remaining single-classed!

the bar for entering that lovely upgraded eldritch knight would be either feats spent on acquiring maneuvers, or dipping into a ToB class some.

it certainly bring some nice things to the table though. i'll do some reading on the stances and see what my character might end up looking like down the line.

The nice thing about ToB dipping is that it only costs you a single level (well, and combat casting and the metamagic, but the metamagic feat is amazing and you really don't mind paying for it because woot, free maximized/empowered damage!). So effectively, you get 19/20 Dusky progression, like 15/20 initiator progression, and on top of that your strikes are extra effective, all for the cost of a feat.

There's two ways to read that. You can read it as 'ability to use second level powers', as there ISN'T a second level stance anywhere...or you can read it as 'has a stance of second laevel or higher', in which case taking Martial Stance after dipping covers you nicely.

Believe it or not, I'm less interested in stuff like Blood Kain (though that looks spiffy too) than in things like Inferno Divider and its follow-ups, or Neck Snap. It just fits the very, very brutal style Rei has exhibited so far, rending opponents to pieces and hitting hard and fast.

...Also, after the way I got beat down in our first group encounter, I'm kinda paranoid about dying so lifesteal would be cash. >_>

Ported the totality of the Legacy Item and Bloodline rules to the sheet and polished them a little (removing typos, eliminating redundancy, and fixing the wording on the Bloodline capstone so it wouldn't be wasted if the character was already Exalted/Vile/Axiomatic/Anarchic). They can be found in the Notes section.

(In other words, this is a discreet bump. Incidentally, I presume Soul Eater maneuvers are OK?)

To sum up the session:

-Met Princess Zildjian Paltern (Zil for short), heiress to the empire of Palternia, which features prominently in the world's history. Also met Harry, her bladesman bodyguard.
-Rei failed a hide AND reflex save with two 1s and got entangled. Much conversation was had and lots of jabs ensued.
-Cora gets a sidequest. What exactly it is it covers is not clear.
-Met Prince Vega Burai. He bragged a lot and shaped up to be a tough battle and then...well, you can see what happened above.
-With Vega now emasculated, he joined the party. Woo!
-Gained 20 bonus XP for Rei for beating Vega, and 20 for Vega for getting punching-bagged. Life is good!
-Ballin' picture of Kyoko gets posted:

-Francois classes it up and tries to hit what is probably some jailbait ass.

Whew, what a session it was! Recap of what went down:

-Arrived at the cultists' hideout, a château hidden in the forest.
-Sent Francois out to scout. Got caught.
-Decided to do normal diplomacy for a change. Turns out the owner of the château was Tommy Wiseau.
-After severely creeping everybody out and claiming that he was going to sacrifice Rei to the armpit god, she headbutted him and flew into a rage. Combat ensued.
-Highlights of the combat: Lora slapping Rei's butt to snap her out of her rage thanks to a botched Will save, Francois missing again and again until he went Cold Sniper, Cora saving people with her infusions, and Rei getting knocked out at last, after sustaining like 30 points of damage.
-Further highlights: Vega missing half the fight and arriving late to turn the tide, the super mule that tanked a 20 damage hit and got up like it was no thang, Kyoko getting oneshotted, and everybody leveling up! Woot!
-End result: Vega is inside the mansion, with his dormant draconic powers about to awaken and up against ten dangerous dudes. Cora got herself some amazing loot in the form of masterwork weaponry to forge stuff with. Lora confirmed to be into girls AND jailbait. Kyoko learned how to summon clones of Rei to meatshield for a time. Rei's got dat ass and has decided to employ the first of her super anime abilities, the Seven Golden Techniques.
