Persona 2: Eternal Punishment, Innocent Sin's sequel, was released in the US back on the PS1. However, P2 Innocent Sin was not released in the US until this year.

Are we required to vote for only games we've played in all these categories? FOR EXAMPLE, I haven't played Uncharted 3, but based on the media exposure I've had to it, I can clearly see it's visually superior to most of the games I've played this year.

Likewise, I've listened to soundtracks of games I haven't played.

for visuals and and soundtrack I definitely think that is fine, maybe even for voice acting.

I know for most disappointing, several games I will have voted for I only played the demo on., so thats another category which will be a go for doing that.

ok, since the interest topic went so well, heres the official sign up topic.

REQUIREMENTS
-must have played at least 25 games from 2011 this year.
-Re-releases do not count, so no Ico, MGS, etc.
-A few re-releases that make actual changes can count towards your games. I've decided that Half Minute Hero is different enough to count, I can't think of any others... maybe Tactics Ogre, someone will have to clarify what is different about it, but yeah, if you have any questions about which ones count, let me know and I will decide.
-obviously Indie/XBLA/PSN games count towards it, this isn't just for retail.

When you sign up, list the games you played this year, if it's 25, you'll be in! I will make a few exceptions for people who are a little short, but who are also B8 GAMING CELEBRITIES such as ZFS and tranman if they choose to vote.

Once you are ACCEPTED, you are free to vote via GameFAQs PM. The last day for voting will be January 3rd.

if you vote in a category, you must vote for anywhere from 3-5 games, in order. if you want to skip a category, that is fine.

Do the different versions really justify 'collecting them all?' I though it was like the other 'Sim[blank]' games where you just picked the gimmick that appealed to you most because they were all pretty much the same otherwise.

Also, I argued for this in WCTP and I'll argue for it here. There should be a Sports Game of the Year category.

Sports games only qualify for a measly 5 categories listed: GotY, where none of them stand a chance, considering the year of gaming we've had; competitive multiplayer, which is really their only shot; soundtrack, which has nothing to do with the games themselves; and most surprising and disappointing, which won't happen, either. If people are fans of the series already, they're not going to be surprised or disappointed by them unless they really stepped up their game, or they truly ****ed up. I can't think of any sports titles that really fit either of those categories.
