Sometimes there's good reason to have it tilted a certain direction. A fun game, preferably with good flavour, should get priority, then balance. I've always subscribed to the belief (and I know I'm not alone) that you should try and make a game with an edge that people will want to talk about and remember for more than two weeks afterwards. Anyone can make a bogstandard mafia game with a given theme. When you get it right, you get games like American History/Soul/Stargate etc. Not to say that you need an interesting 3rd party to make it a fun game though! -- "Eet's game time..."
