I will make time for this game, I don't care what I have to sacrifice
can someone give me storytime of North Pole? Why are people shifting their feet at the ending?
good protection made the scum team no kill on both n3 and n4, and the team not only had to get replacements for some of their players, but they were getting lynched one after the other pretty much every day until they gave up

Congrats to 2011 Rivalry Rumble Guru winner, SuperNiceDog http://backloggery.com/articuno2001/sig.gif
The rookies are pretty much Dumey, SBell, and XIII, just going by the rule that states that they haven't played in B8 Mafia in this year (I guess caveman cam counts too, but don't put him in)
I haven't seen that much of Dumey but I guess carrying his team in that one newbie game might be enough to give him the slot.
Most improved really is probably Articuno just because he went from pretty bleh to a legit midcarder imho. Ulti I might also say has improved his game quite a bit.
Host is probably... Yeah, I might give it to Cokes because his games were both consistently good.
Game overall is either Sir Chris or Bible, both games were pretty fun reads.
Player is tough, I feel like I had it down to three candidates based on several factors but they all seem to be stronger then each other in multiple areas. I'll reread a few games before deciding.

You know what they say: You can't teach an Old Website New Tricks. However, SuperNiceDog learned some new tricks and won a Guru Bracket!
I legitimately think I was the best player this year once again, but I always think that. Taking the whole year into account I had a stellar year. Only person who is close is Boko, but while he got me this last game I nailed him a couple of times this year (Poker/Scott Pilgrim mafia) and I just think I have a stronger body of work overall when you consider Violin mafia.
Ulti is for sure the most improved.
Game of the Year I am not sure. Probably Bible Mafia, it had a bit of everything. I think Sir Chris had the best flavor though!
I don't want to give Cokes best host simply because I didn't like his hosting job in AW. Yeah it was experimental that's fine we all signed up for it but it was really badly done and imbalanced and unfair to the side teams. Just a mess that shouldn't be rewarded imo.

Having read the scumboard, Chris was giving them solid advice but none of them were listening and they crumbled around him. Probably because he was giving it in standard Chris style which is tough to swallow.
Only thing Chris was wrong about was his choice of N2 kill.

SuperNiceDog gurued me down to http://img.imgcake.com/dangergifuj.gif
It wasn't so much the kill itself, but the read on boko that led to the kill. I still like the regaro wifom, but it was made under the assumption that boko was not a scanner, which was the crux of my error.

Scum Chris is kind of a dick, I thought you'd appreciate that given who you are.

Hey, Violin Concerto Mafia was a good game and I balanced it well (hosted it, meh didn't want to modkill people) <_<
*tries to toot own horn* *hasn't been here enough this year to make an informed decision*
Rookie: Yeah, I'd say Dumey.
Player I put in the Boardy topic, gave it to Chris on merits of VC.
Improved: Dunno, haven't read up enough.
GotY: Violin Concerto aside (<_<) I found Chris' game to be fun until he kinda slacked off on the end-of-day flavor (though IIRC he wasn't there), and I found God of War to be a really fun game. Though crazy (Three Jacks/Mason Jacks?)
HotY: Kinda want to put a vote for Dumey and Peaf with '80s SMC, which was a good game until the crazy. Then I thought "But we didn't think it was balanced at all." However from what I read in Bible Mafia (which is more than what I can say about the Bible, reading it) Plum ran a pretty tight ship, even though there was Scum Prosty.
Disappointment/Failure of the year: Blade fakeclaiming Britten, and no players other than Chris noticing it. I mean, I literally facepalmed. Or Atma going crazy and ruining '80s SMC. Or Rev getting a pregame modkill.

Disappointment of the Year - Baku finally rolls scum for the first time since March of 2010 and it shows... like he predicted. Biggest WTF? Moment - Baku fake claims Day Cop, and gets scum to kill him as Vanilla.
Yeah, I'm voting my own moments... I got a little Ulti in me, what can I say.
FFD wasn't the only one who waited years for NP mafia only to get killed N1!
I don't think this year was a great one for rookies. Can't think of one off the top of my head who's really stood out whilst either not having a fairly low skill ceiling or being obnoxious as hell.
Player... I'd probably agree with Boko, yeah. He started to get more consistent with good performances this year, culminating in NP. Still needs to learn how not to be anonymous for portions of games though!
Most improved is Ulti.
I don't think anything stands out as either game or host of the year. All of the likely contenders had their flaws, so it would come down to personal preference.

From: UltimaterializerX | #280 The Dumey topic on the scum board kind of rubbed me the wrong way. I get why you did it, but sometimes you need to give it a rest and try a different approach.
Nah. I went overboard but there isn't many ways to react to that I think.
Also I think people who are calling boko player of the year are just sick of me. Hail to the king baby.

I was only here half a year, so I dunno if I should even try and vote. But hey, count it if you want.
RotY: Toot my own horn here, and say me, Dumey. While I may not have had great reads so far, and have gotten in plenty of bulls*** arguments, I feel like I usually tend to contribute a lot to the games I'm in. (At least as town) That alone kind of puts me ahead of forgettables. But that's obviously pretty biased.
PotY: Sir Chris. I see Boko's brilliance and all that, and obviously see why he's quite respected at what he does. But at the same time, he does so by hiding under his reputation and coming out when he wants to come out. Sure it's a viable strategy, but overall, isn't the most beneficial to town. Especially in the games where he really doesn't do much at all. Chris on the other hand always takes a firm role in every game and manhandles it. Ulti is in that same category, but Ulti is off/on some games, where Chris is always displaying his play.
MIP: I haven't been around long enough, but I'm comfortable saying Articuno. When I first started, I was confused as to why people weren't all over him, because I thought he was bad, but maybe I just didn't know the player-base well enough. But the latest things I've seen I never have a problem with. I do think it's funny how people seem to go after him as an easy lynch, when it's clear he just isn't going to accept that anymore.
MGotY: Again, wasn't here the whole time, but I found Bible to be a very fun and interesting read. Obviously it had it's little issues, that have all caused some discussion. But hey, arguing is what we're here for, and it was fairly tasteful.
HotY: I really have no idea how to rate this category. I only really note f***ups, and don't remember way too much about how well flavor was matched with roles. I'm gonna be a bit of an oddity and just vote Colegreen. Just because he hosted my first game here on b8. Yeah.
From: UltimaterializerX | #268 This is literally factually wrong, since Titania is the best way to get the most bonus exp in 9.
FE8 barely counts since everyone has infinite exp past chapter 8.
Eh, I was never much into figuring out bonus exp in PoR. Perhaps it IS because it was so easy to get levels in SS that I actually have respect for Seth. He's the only Jeigan I ever had actual technical use for in the early stages of the game. I mean, I COULD (and have done so) just leave him in the tent as soon as I can, but there's no need to, so he actually gets used.
MLB Hall of Fame'll be 25 and I'll be able to host it in the summer, preferably during Induction Weekend in July. I'd love to have someone double-check my setup before I officially queue it though (preferably a baseball fan to help eliminate flavormeta that I might have accidentally put in).
