It starts off so good, but it becomes way too cheerful for a "villain song". When they basically start cheering "In the dark of the night, evil will find her" the song loses all the tension and atmosphere it worked so hard to create and then becomes average. I mean, it's hard to take a song seriously when the chorus is explaining how the villain is going to kill some girl so... happily.

I think it stems from not liking her as a child... Certain villain(esse)s I loved right away: Scar, Maleficent, Cruella. And some I just didn't like at all: Gaston, Ratcliffe (fat dude from Pocahontas), and Ursula. As to why I don't like Ursula in particular even I'm not sure. She's definitely charismatic enough and I've come to appreciate her attitude... I think it's because I hate that she'd use someone else's gift (Ariel's voice) to steal away the one thing she was willing to sacrifice it to obtain (Prince Eric). The whole Vanessa thing just struck me as all kinds of ruthless. And not only was she willing to ruin this girl using her own voice against her, but she also didn't even care about what she at one point was trying to obtain, as she was willing to kill Eric too. I don't think I understood her motives in that regard, which is why I'm not fond of her to this day.

As for the other you mentioned, I will give Gaston (the song [not the character because he's a pig]) credit for going somewhere totally different from most Disney villain songs and maintaining the sane feel as the character throughout the entire movie, but it's definitely not better than Hellfire.

EDIT: If we're talking lyrical movie songs, though, Be Prepared has to be up there. I also liked Hexus's song from Ferngully, but I'm not sure I can say that it's as good.
