I don't recall any such thing. But it sounds like it could be interesting to me. Especially since we're all so bored now with the same results every time. It would be a good way of getting Link, Mario, and Cloud out and giving others a chance. I mean, if it was villains then of course we would just have Ganondorf, Bowser, and Sephiroth. Which is why I think secondary characters (non-main characters I guess? I don't know how best to phrase that) would be the most interesting.

Villains contest was pretty much CJay's way of getting Sephiroth off the main bracket later that Summer.

A secondary character contest was done on Gamespot, but it was blah.
