And then the next day they pretty much turned around and said they have not and do not plan to go on record before Congress to oppose the bill.

While they have issued a statement reversing their position, their CEO has stated that they are NOT committing to changing their position on record with Congress.

So basically, when GoDaddy said they were reversing their position, they were lying.

Originally Microsoft was in support via their membership in the Business Software Alliance which supported the bill, but a week or two ago the BSA removed their support.

Yeah, that sounds about right. I read Microsoft approached the other members of the BSA to try to get them to agree to pull their support of the bill -- and those talks led to the group opposing it for being too extreme.

Well, that explains the total lack of media coverage. I was pretty disappointed that Jon Stewart never mentioned the bill and Colbert only did one of those lame "let's hear both sides of the issue" things, but it wouldn't surprise me if Viacom was making sure they didn't.

Maybe if they didn't care about their jobs they could talk about it anyways, and then Viacom has to either let the episode air, or cancel it, and canceling the Daily Show/Colbert Report for even a day would definitely bring a great deal of attention to the issue.

But then they would definitely lose their jobs.
