Absolutely

Magic is a great and very deep game. Excellent if you enjoy strategy and logic, imo.

Magic's pretty fun yeah

As far as I'm aware, though, it can be hella expensive if you want to get into it on any competitive level. I just borrow my friend's excess cards when I play

Magic is excellent but it's very, very hard to build a good deck. Which is frustrating. Unless you use a friend's cards, you'll spend most of your time researching how to deck build

Competitive level MtG is dummmmm anyway.

Building casual decks and playing with friends is what its about.

What MtG does very well is card flavor. Not just the flavor text I mean, but just how cards/sets/mechanics work from a flavor point of view.

I made a stupid bet with Alec. It cost me my testicles & sig. Take all my money and I could own the Mets.

Magic is extremely expensive, i think...and it lowers your chances of getting laid by at least 50%

Well, I needed to get some of these ladies off me anyway. I mean it's nice but I'm getting exhausted.

If you're not looking to drop a large amount of cash, there aresome formats that don't require pre-made decks. Instead you pick cards from booster packs you open on the spot and make a deck from those.

That's essentially all I do, and depending on how much you play it's cheaper than a competitive constructed deck.

Well, you have to pay for boosters there, so in the long-term you end up paying more money.

The best way to play is to find a friend with a bunch of cards and Cube Draft. Basically your friend assembles a set of cards that players make boosters from by taking 15 random cards, then you do a draft with those booster packs like competitive play works. It's a lot of fun, but assembling a good Cube can be really expensive... which is why you find a friend with really good cards to begin with. =P

The best way to play is EDH Planechase, preferably with at least 4 players, with all the planechase cards in one big stack affecting everyone as if they were world enchantments.

It's fun if you just play every once in a while... the strategy is interesting and deeper than something like YGO, but yeah you don't want to be buying your own cards and building your own decks cuz that takes way too much time.
