Board 8 > Is final fantasy 3 any good

Only full length FF available on iPad. Figured it was FF6 or whatever at first, but apparently it's actually FF3 and was released on DS. I know FF2 is atrocious, so I wanna make sure. If it sucks, can anybody recommend a good iPad RPG?

FFT is on the iPhone so I assume it's on iPad a well.

I hate FFT and any SPRG.

The original is one of the best RPGs ever. The.DS version is like a poopy version that tries to feel new but somehow becomes even more archaic than the NES one.

Have you ever played Final Fantasy 5?

It's basically like that game but more primitive, with a job system.

I have no idea what changes the DS version made to the core gameplay, but as a Famicom game it was really good and IMO the best of 1-3.

I've heard it's crazy hard and save points are hard to come by. Dunno about the actual gameplay though.

I've only played the DS version of FF3 and I'm pretty sure that game is my least favorite in the entire series.

FF2 is quite good actually.

It's GOTY compared to FF3.

FF3 is still ok if you're into hard, old-fashioned RPGs though.

oh whoops they did that again for the next three turns, game over
now it's time to redo an hour long dungeon and the three other boss battles I was forced to do to get to this point with no opportunity to save the game in between

It had good music at least, I'll give it that.

The NES version is fantastic, one of my favorite games.

The DS version is crap.

Considering the iOS version is based on the DS version, skip it.

The DS version plays a bit slower than the NES original but people who think it's significantly worse as a result are kinda weird. It doesn't play any slower than FF7-FF9.

TheRock ~ Slow dramatic zoom-pan. Doesn't phase the hooded man.

And yeah other than slower (but still not too slow) combat everything else is improvements. I prefer the DS game personally.
