As I stated on that ungodly evil night when RG3 won an award he should have finished 5th in, this guy had absolutely no right winning this award. He is simply not Heisman material. End of.

There is literally not ONE person he was up against who does not outscore him today.

In this game, Luck throws for at least 6, maybe 7 TDs.

Ball and Richardson would both torch the other team for at least 4.

Hell, Ryan Mathiau (sp) would score more DEFENSIVE TD's than RG3 did tonight, against an offense worse than some Big XII teams.

This literally has absolutely nothing whatsoever in the world to do with whether RG3 deserved the Heisman or not or whether somebody else should have won it instead.

Nor have any of the arguments you've ever presented to say why he shouldn't have won it held any water (along with the fact that some of them were just flat out not true makes me wonder if you actually watched the guy play before tonight, assuming you actually watched the game).

You can't really tell anything about how good or bad Baylor is. Washington's defense was completely checked out. Baylor ran for 482 yards against them. RG3 didn't have to do anything. No QB would have. Every QB looks like a Heisman candidate against Washington's defense.

Stanford also rushed for over 400 yards against the Huskies (yes, the Huskies had opposing teams rush for 400 yards twice this year) so Luck again didn't have to do anything. You seriously can't tell anything about how good Luck or RG3 are just by looking at their games against Washington. There's nothing to see. They don't have to throw the ball.

It's pretty much this. This game doesn't help or hurt RG3 or any other heisman contender. Washingtons run defense is f***ing bad.
Aside from the 2 400+, they also had another team get 300+ on them, and 2 more get 200+.

It's worth pointing out that Washington's pass defense is equally disasterous. Well, maybe it's not worth pointing out, but I just wanted to say it. I think their pass defense is actually worse than their run defense. They're that bad! But when you can run the ball for 400 yards, you don't need to pass.

They don't give the MVP to players on slightly over 500 teams (not saying Baylor was) in MLB, NBA, or NFL, unless they have all time record seasons, and even then they still might not. Luck was an objectively BETTER QB, surrounded by a worse team, playing in a better conference (my respect for Big XII is nil, this ungodly scoring fest is not out of the ordinary) that led his team to a BCS Bowl playing teams like USC and Oregon. Even if you want to say they were about even, (the best you can say about RG3 would be he was even with Luck, he was certainly not significantly better stat wise) one of them actually succeeded this year with his team. The other played in the damn Alamo Bowl today. I don't want to say it is the worst since Desmond Howard, since nothing may ever top that travesty.

I don't even want to say it is as bad as Charles Woodson over Peyton, because people should have been capitally punished for that one.

But it at the VERY least as bad as Troy Smith winning it.

Here's one of the problems.

You think the Heisman is the same thing as the MVP.

And Baylor accomplished things this year under RG3 that they haven't accomplished in our lifetimes, and in some cases, ever before. Saying a player has to make some sort of BCS bowl in order to win the Heisman is nonsensical and gives a very limited view of "success."

But when we do this whole "Give it to the best player on the best team" crap, we end up with horrible results like Eric Crouch and Chris Weinke winning the Heisman.

I just said Troy Smith winning it was a joke, he was the best player on the supposed best team. It should not auto go to them. It sure as hell should be used as a tie breaker though. If you have 2 relatively even players, and one is playing in the Alamo Bowl, and the other in the Championship/Rose bowl.... It should go to the one who actually led his team somewhere. And especially in the case of Luck, who led his team farther, which worse talent, and playing better schools.

Or it could be the other way around, cause MWC is a pretty horrible human being.

If Felix had won about the same number sure. Felix was a .500 pitcher, and should not have received a single vote (I don't know if the ballot goes 3, 5, or 10 deep, it is irrelevant though, because he should not have got any of them). Felix failed in the only thing he is there to do, win games. Verlandeer this year was outstanding, he won, he won alot, he always won after his team lost. He carried his team. Felix had no business getting close to the award, let alone winning it.

no player this year meant more to his team than RG3. Mathieu may not have even been the best player at his position on his team.

as for felix: ERA is probably the best stat to use for him. he let in fewer runs than anyone else per nine innings in 2010, so he was the best pitcher that year. felix doesn't control how bad his offense is.

both these players made up for mediocre supporting casts. how do you fail to realize this time after time? LeBron is the same way. No one else could have carried the rest of the 2007 Cavs to the nba finals.

This is what MWC actually believes. Like, honest to goodness, he thinks this is logical thinking.

In 2010, Felix Hernandez had THE LOWEST RUN SUPPORT IN THE ENTIRE GOD DAMN LEAGUE. Give CC that type of run support in 2010 and he finishes below .500, genius.

Like, if you just admit "Hey, it's all just an act. I'm not this sports illiterate" then we'll all have a good laugh, maybe share a beer or something down the road.
