Why would you skip all the stuff before that? If you start post time skip, you'll see like four or so good episodes and then start the most mediocre arc of One Piece in recent memory. The stuff between Thriller Bark and the time skip is mostly very good.

Yes such a great chapter! Can't wait for the next. The Marine incident and truth about Shirahoshi was also very interesting.
Well I'd recommend Whitebeard vs. Akainu even if it was made less violent.
For something else, the Sabo flashback was made really great in the anime, honestly I think that's Toei's best work so on One Piece so far, even if it's not really a fight, you should still watch that. Starts at 493.

Luffy, Ace and Sabo flashback, the one after the Marineford arc. Becomming brothers. With the Dadan family and all. Though I guess if you're that uninterested in flashbacks you might not enjoy it that much. You should still try though.
The big spoiler during Marineford was made very touching in the anime too, and Luffy on Amazon Lily was made even more interesting.

Yes Shanks was there, but he didn't really have any fight. He did block Akainu's magma attack saving Coby, after that he was the one of put an end to the war.

How'd he put an end to the war? I might actually go back and watch the Marineford arc... or at least the end of it. I just wish there was, like, a nice streaming site or something...
ALSO. A few episodes into the timeskip, now that I see Franky's new look animated, I can say for sure that I don't like it. I preferred him pre-time skip. He's the only one I can say that about.
Luffy has always been badass, and now with this whole "I stare at you and you're knocked the f*** out" power of his, he's gotten even more badass. It's awesome.
Zoro too, with his scarred eye and everything. It just screams badass. And when Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji walked into Otohime's room to scare away that one villain guy (don't remember who he was), oh man. I just love when the main characters we've grown to love have awesome moments like that where the enemy knows they're f***ed.
I know, and the best part about this little fishman island squabble is that we literally saw them 'warming up'.
Luffy had to sort of go all out because he was trying to destroy Noah, but he barely broke a sweat dispatching Arlong-lite. Same with the others. Zoro almost fell asleep fighting that one guy, and HE took out Arlong-lite in one swipe.
I'm anxious to see them in a fight where they have to try.

Yeah that was pretty awesome. Finally seeing their abilities and how they weren't even bothered by the enemies they had this face this time around. Really sweet.
I just thought of something, I can't remember what it was in the anime. I think it was filler. I think the main enemy guy was Foxy? It was like a game that he made the Strawhat crew participate in. It was one of the times that Sanji and Zoro actually fought together, and that's the part I wanna watch again... like on youtube.
EDIT: Oh and Afro Luffy! That's right.

I'm really not even sure if that was filler. He was in Jump Ultimate Stars. I thought that game only took from manga... I don't know honestly. I just assumed. I guess if you don't recognize Afro Luffy then it must have really been filler.
AWESOMEST FILLER EVER.

Shanks ended the war simply by being badass. Well kinda, you can watch for yourself, it's the end of episode 488 and then 489.
While it's true that the Davy Back Fight with Foxy did add some filler, what you've mentioned of it was not.
Afro Luffy happens in the manga. Episode 217-219 in the anime. I'm surprised Extha can't remember. That fight with Zoro and Sanji working together happens in the manga too. Episode 211-213. If you wanna watch the whole arc it starts at 207 and 213 through 216 is filler.
Yeah I thought Afro Luffy must have been in the manga considering it was a big part of the series.
It just occurred to me, did anyone even ask Zoro what happened to his eye? I mean, he had both of them before the time-skip, then he comes back and... well losing an eye is a big deal. You'd think someone would have been concerned.
Sanji at least seems a little bit surprised when an old man decriped Zoro by saying one-eyed. It hasn't been confirmed what happened to the eye, but I assume it happened under his training with Mihawk.

Well yeah, considering he didn't have it before training with Mihawk. I hope they show us some of that training, that's one flashback I would actually want to see.
Also watching the anime right now HOLY F*** YES. Luffy destroying the Pacifista. When he dodged the light blasts and said "too slow" I was just like YES SO BADASS.
I can't wait for the anime to get to the main fight of the Fishmen arc.

But they have to be behind, so they can edit here and there use a chapter for serveral episodes, or make an episode about half a chapter, foreshadow things and such.

On that note I hope we learn how Luffy got that awesome cross scar on his chest.
And that one ghost chick, I completely forgot what her role has been since Thriller Bark. She's an ally now? She was with Zoro during his training with Mihawk?
-- ~Halo Live, fight, survive, as a family. http://img267.imageshack.us/img267/7469/batfamily.jpg
That ghost chick Persona was sent away by Kuma to the same place Zoro was, which was Mihawk's home, so they kinda just got along ther I guess, since she was the one who brought him back to Sabaody.
I can't find a video on youtube of when Luffy gets that scar, but I can say it happens in episode 487.
