Im liking the old republic so far

Did my first instance (flashpoint) yesterday and it was hilarious how I was like the only reasonable / LS / good person in convos (everyone else in group going "KILL THE ****"" / picking DS options etc and when I won the convo roll and saved the general they were all "....what." hilarious

plus its nice how it feels that what you do actually matters (in WoW its like do all this random crap and then random lore character 242 takes all the credit) / how you can decide how quests turn out / how you go about them lol.

plus you can have your companions sell all your grey items if you're not near a vendor / have them do gathering stuff for you if you have the cash

I haven't played it, but the word seems to be that it's exactly like WoW in space with Bioware-style companions.

As someone who played 4 years of WoW, SWTOR is pretty damn fun. It's definitively a better game than WoW. There are a few failures like the talent trees having vanilla/BC-style talents that are incredibly boring and lack of choice in talents, but it's executed more better overall. However, I ended up quitting after less than a week of playing reardless (at level 27 at the end of Tatooine). I quit WoW because I was tired of it and TOR's gameplay is fundamentally the same thing, even if the questing experience has a Bioware single-player flair to it. It's still similar enough that if you quit WoW because you were just generally tired of it, it's probably not going to be fresh enough to become your new MMO.

I prefer WoW. It's not really as GOOD as TOR, but I think that's exactly why I prefer it. TOR is too good to be an MMO, and that's it's biggest flaw. You've got those stunning graphics (which admittedly, my computer sucks at running) and this great storyline...and then you have to go out and kill ten womp rats or whatever. This should've been the third KotOR, but instead, it's trying to be a WoW killer, and Bioware's just not good at dumbing themselves down to work as an MMO.

And Mass Effect dialogue.

But seriously Star Wars music and SFX really helped me enjoy myself with this game.
