Weird how Uncharted is more expensive than anything else. I don't like the idea of more popular games being priced higher... could set a bad precedent if it does well.

At least it's not like Nintendo where they never lower the price! I'm sure after a year Uncharted will be $20-30

transcience posted... more popular games should absolutely cost more. you'd rather these games all cost $50?
I was thinking more along the lines of if they charged 60 bucks for games this gen, but popular games like Modern Warfare and Skyrim cost you 80 dollars.
30-40 here seems the "Standard" price, while they raise it above that for a popular game.
oh hey uncharted is going the capcom route. and no more popular games shouldn't cost more, they should cost the standard. the standard price is what all games should by default cost, with you going lower if it's a more budget title, and going higher only if it's something that's different than a standard game - e.g., a CE.

which doesn't make their decision less of a joke at all. it's the same way as if someone were to go 'well our game is pretty popular so we should make it $70' on the consoles.
only reaction that should be given there is a deadpan 'no', unless it's carrying something more than just the game. you don't go above the standard for the hell of it. there's plenty of popular, high budget, and high profile games that will exist at that level because that's where we've set the bar to be. this is your price, you're done. downwards is fine, upwards is not.

let the market decide what games cost. I think it's kinda weird that 100-million dollar games can't charge more than a small game like Katamari or something. if the game isn't worth $50 then people won't pay for it. simple as that.
games tumble in price so fast that you can probably find it for $40 at launch somewhere anyway.
geez guys if you don't want to pay $50 just wait for a price drop or find it on sale. The game likely has production values on par with Skyward Sword(or probably better) so it makes sense they would charge the same price.
And what transcience said.

Yep. $50 for a Vita game like Uncharted is comparable to a console release, not a $30-$40 handheld game. The line between console and portable, in terms of production values and scale, is getting smaller. If the budget for some top tier titles is enough to consider a higher price to maintain profitability, then they should adjust it. Prices shouldn't be set at a certain level; there should be a variety of price points based on each individual game. People will decide whether or not it costs too much -- and it'll be a lesson learned if it doesn't achieve the level they want. Prices can always come down, these publishers aren't Nintendo.

Really? You think they've been working on this game for five years? Since before the first Uncharted game came out?
