I'm going to end up running this anyways, so no need to keep the interest gauge going anymore.
Here's the explanation from the last topic:
It's a voting based user contest with a twist. There are abilities which can alter the votes. I'll give some examples later. There is no bracket, you challenge users to a match (users you assume that you can beat) in a challenge topic which is always posted the day before matches. Users can't deny your challenge, so it's pretty much first come first serve. The next day you will be in a match with them where people can vote for one of you, each vote is worth one point. After 24 hours, whoever has the most votes wins, and gets one more random ability, the loser is eliminated.
So basically the game will start by everyone getting 3 random abilities from the list. You can use all of them in one match if you want, but once you use it, you lose it. You also get one more each time you win, so use them wisely. When a challenge topic is posted, all you have to do is post "Challenge x." X obviously being the user you wish to challenge. Assuming they don't use a forfeit, you will be in a match with that user the following day. If there are an even amount of users, then any users that don't challenge anyone, don't get challenged, or use a forfeit will be randomly paired up with another user. If there are an odd amount, or you use a forfeit, then it is possible that a user won't be in a match, but still won't be eliminated. Last user in wins. Here's a list of some of the abilities (taken from the last topic), a full list will be provided at a later date. Contest will probably start in as little as a few days to as long as a week from now. I'm not putting an initial cap on the amount of users I'll take, because I don't see it being a ridiculous amount, but it's possible it could get capped at some point.
+1: Used during the match, gives you one more point. Forfeit: Used in the challenge topic, this is the only way to get out of a match. Recall: Used during a match before it ends. Match will be done again during the next day of matches. Counter: 50% chance to counter an ability an opponent used. Steal: Steal an ability from a user of your choice. Magnet: Used during a challenge topic. You can challenge two users to a match. (In a match with more than 2 users, only the user with the least points is eliminated, everyone else in the match "wins.")

Also note that unlike most of my contests, this one doesn't take that much time. There's usually 2 to 3 matches per week, so that means you'll want to be around to check for a challenge topic, which takes two seconds, and isn't required, and you'll want to check your matches a few times, which again, isn't required.

I still visit this board. In fact, I pretty much visit every day. I just don't post very often. I have 12 active messages. I dunno. Board 8 is just one of those places where I just don't want to leave. It feels like a second home to some degree. The only reason I posted here is because I saw the oh-so-familiar topic title.
I considered it, and I'm probably not. I've kinda outgrown my "popularity contest" phase, and that area is probably where I got 80-90% of my popularity from. Since I don't really do those anymore, and I haven't been posting or meeting any of the new faces on Board 8, my performance is bound to be subpar. I like the concept of the game aspect, and it could be fun to watch (in fact, I'll probably be following this), but it's not so much fun to play, with my losing all the matches vote-wise. :P
