The NBA Ladder contest brings in new challenges each week as users try to advance levels. Users can join in at any time and still be successful. New users start at Level 1, weekly standings will be updated sometime on Sunday OR if the user has already reached the next level. We don't have off days like the NFL so you can go ahead and submit a prediction for two levels if you're waiting until Sunday to see if you advance. I'll try to get the new topic up each Friday.
Rules: - Picks for games that day must be made before the start of the FIRST game. Start time is listed in schedule. - Weeks will run from Monday to Sunday. - Please state what level you are on. - COPY AND PASTE the schedule with the dates and remove the excess for your picks. - The Bonus deadline will vary week-to-week depending on whether it's game specific or league specific. - Number of bonus points is the tiebreaker. - DO NOT DELETE posts, you cannot change your entry to predict other games.
Explanation of Levels: Level 1 - Pick TEN games, bold your winners, at least FOUR must win. No bonus for having more than four. Level 2 - Pick TEN games, pick the AWAY team to win, at least FOUR must win. No bonus for having more than four. Level 3 - Pick THREE games: 30+ points, 10+ assists, 10+ rebounds must be recorded by someone or any combination of players playing. (You're not picking the players, essentially picking a game gives ~20 people the chance to score 30+ points, etc).
How to submit an entry: 1. Post your level. 2. Copy/paste the schedule, remove games until there are only the required amount for your level. BOLD your winners, LEAVE the dates. 3. Keep spaces to a minimum. 4. Post your Bonus.
Week 3 Bonus: (Deadline: 1/9 700pm ET) What player will record the most rebounds in a single game this week?
Standings: Current at the end of Friday. People still in progress have their amount correct listed.
My guess (correct me if I'm wrong) is that by "any combination of players," he means that anyone in the game needs to get any of those stats.
Say you pick: Heat (7-1) @ Clippers (3-2)
If Lebron (Heat) gets 30+ points, Paul (Clippers) gets 10+ assists, and Griffin (Clippers) gets 10+ rebounds, then you got it right. It just has to be three players in the game from either team.
You're choosing the games and in those games you 'get' all the players that play. You need someone (doesn't have to be the same person to get ALL three things) to record 30, 10, and 10.

Okay, I got someone with 30+ points and someone with 10+ rebounds in my first game. What does that mean now? Do I lose the level? Do I just need someone to get 10+ assists? Or do I need all three in the same game?

Hmm...I think it should have been picking three games (or maybe just two) that in each game you need a combination of 30 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds.

Need 30 points. Melo and Durant are the big dogs in this game that can get that. Lakers @ Clippers was tempting the way Kobe has been goin' off, could change to that but for now I'll go with this game for the 30.

Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and say you can't change games in level 3.
I know I didn't mention it in the rules but it totally defeats the purpose and challenge of the level. And if I let it slide this week I have to let it slide for the rest of the season which I really don't want to do. The only way you would be able to change games is if you change them before the start of the first one you picked. And obviously, you won't be able to just pick one. Because if that game happens and you haven't picked your others, you won't be able to.
In short: 1. No changing picks in Level 3 after one or more of your games has already started. 2. You must pick all three games at once.
