As far as Xbox 360 and PS3 are concerned, really. I'm not really up to date with this stuff, and after giving the new 360 dashboard plenty of time to sink in, I've decided that I violently hate it. I spent a couple hundred on arcade games that I have yet to play (went on a buying spree just before the update, actually) because I hate navigating that abomination of a dashboard. I unplugged my Xbox from the net over a month ago, when I used to religiously check the marketplace each day. They removed so much functionality to make it "stylish."
So I was considering buying a PS3 ... I had one at launch, immediately had buyer's remorse due to the games out and games coming out, but now I've seen that there's some good stuff available. But I'm also kind of wondering how long this console generation will last. If something new is supposed to come out, say, this year, or next year, maybe I won't throw down the money for a new console. Either way, I'm certainly getting rid of my Xbox.
I also know nothing about the Wii U, but I do have a Wii and enjoy it, though it's been a long time since I've played it.
Secondary question ... are there different models of the PS3? What's the best one or perhaps cheapest one without any hidden "oh jeez I shoulda bought the other one because it has _____" caveats.
I always find the last couple of years the best time to get into the console. It's at its cheapest and all the good games are patched and down to $20. Perfect time to get a PS3. The standard edition now is fine although it has no BC with PS2 games anymore. That's 160GB I think for $250. I wouldn't get the MOVE edition because you have a Wii. And I hear they're announcing the PS4/720 at this year's E3 so maybe early next year?

Is there anything cheaper than 250 for say, less space? Can't you switch out a different hard drive? I have like thirty hard drives. And the BC thing doesn't bother me at all ... I don't much care for the PS2, though I guess that's kind of heresy around these parts.
