Because MAME adds input lag and Windows adds input lag and the CPS-3 emulation is nowhere near perfect in MAME. If I wanted to go that route, I could just emulate it in FBA or play it on Online Edition and say "close enough." I wanna do this legit!
Why not just get Street Fighter Anniversary Collection if you want arcade perfect Third Strike?
AC is not arcade perfect. The speed is wrong (runs significantly faster than arcade) and a couple of moves don't work correctly. The moves thing is actually pretty minor but the speed matters a lot.
Also certain parts of the CPS3 die and need to be replaced with parts only found in Japan shops.
Yeah, the battery suicides itself and ruins the board, right? I was reading about that, and that's the only point of skepticism about this venture I have. Well, that and $2700. I was reading that you pretty much have to send it to Japan and get the battery recharged periodically, and who knows if they'll do that forever.
Yeah this video has the CPS3 hardware explained and says if the battery dies you need to have contacts in Japan to get a new one or the CPS3 hardware doesn't work.
That alone makes the cabinet too much of a gamble since the hardware is too old, you should just stick to the console versions.

From: OmarsComin | #003 You can get infinitely better prices searching for one specifically and not buying these components and having them shipped by a company.
Pretty much everyone does it this way. You can't really find a 3S arcade machine for sale anywhere.
I have one just a bit up the freeway for about $600-800 IIRC if I want it.
I think there's a free play option on the US version but not the Japanese version. thing is with the battery situation the way it is you pretty much only want to buy the Japanese version because that's the only board you can get the battery replaced on by Capcom.
