it ****ing sucks, but getting sworn in by bloomberg on tuesday was pretty cool

wake up at 3:00 am, get home at 6:00 pm, in bed by 8:00 pm with homework to do, so you guys will be seeing a lot less of me which probably pleases some of you

yeah everybody starts on beat

NYPD is doing this thing now called operation impact, where they take you right out of the academy and put you in awful neighborhoods in the south bronx, queens south, east brooklyn et cetera. it's kind of a "baptism under fire" thing. like, if you can survive 2 years in the south bronx, wherever you go you'll be fine. they make groups of like 8 PPOs and stick them on the same block so they can look out for each other and take turns making collars so you can practice procedure and paperwork.

just found out that a kid literally died in the academy during PT last class. cardiac arrest. uh oh.
