Hold up, hold up, hold up.

They also need more animals than just the pairs, since a lot of animals eat other animals.

If you want to attack the flood, the real thing that demands explanation is: where did all the water go?

Clearly Noah created a spaceship-water-ark that sent all the water back into space.

So what you are saying is...Noah was God for another planet. And maybe that's how our planet started. And the flood was really another dude sending their spacship-water-ark into our planet after we already had our first spaceship-water-ark create life. This makes so much sense!

Ok everyone hold on, you're all ignoring the fatal flaw in TC's "plot hole".

Sure, there are so many species of animals now, but back then there were FAR fewer, and Noah didn't have to bring a pair of EVERY SINGLE SPECIES EVER. He doesn't need 2 green grasshoppers and 2 forest grasshoppers... they're basically the same thing, despite being different species. The current insects and such evolved from those ancient animals that Noah saved, and the ones he didn't save just died.

If you take this into account, it wouldn't be absurd for a guy to build a ship that could hold this select amount of animals. Especially considering he had ****ing GOD on his side.

God is omnipotent. Surely you do not doubt that he can make species evolve at will?

Of course, as I said, the "plot hole" brought up in this topic isn't strange, or miraculous, at all. The vast majority of species on earth are really really small, and Noah's Ark was pretty big. Fitting them on there would be pretty easy. If you think the flood is strange, there are several aspects of it that are far more strange than this one.

At least this explains how the dinosaurs died out. They take up too much space on the boat, so they got left behind.

Indeed, something like apatasaurus (or whatever it's called) would probably take up as much space as all the insect species combined. Given that there were many large land dinosaur species, they would probably have taken up more space than all other land animal species together.

Seems needlessly complicated to kill everything and re-evolve the survivors back to the way they were before.

But who am I to question God.

Why were some dinosaur species spared while others weren't, then? For instance, why were alligators and crocodiles included, but the much smaller velociraptor (actual, turkey-sized velociraptor, not the Jurassic Park-esque Utahraptor) wasn't?

There were no animals there before the Europeans brought them oversea. The natives were just stoned as hell and imagined things.

I'm sorry my bad

don't you find it strange that so many people started looking at it that way though?

Or that so many people decided that that exact bundle of texts is the 'right' way of studying religion?

Especially considering some texts are even believed to be polytheistic in origin?

I'm sorry guys for ruining the fun I'll stop now
