Just noticed this on my feed and I'll admit, I smirked at the joke.. but now this **** is going off. I'm sure I hate rape even more than the next guy... but I can't honestly say that I get worked up when someone makes a stupid joke about it. I mean making a joke about someone who was raped? Terrible, and I don't support it in any way. Making a hypothetical joke about a rape involving nobody? I don't see why people get so worked up...
For the record, I only know the Rehanna chick.. if these were my friends I probably would have told Bill to shut up shortly after taking the screenshot.

That the thing that probably annoys me the most. When people say something "isn't funny". It's such a weird thing to say. Do they realize that "funny" is an opinion? It's not funny to you, okay, who cares? It's funny to some people, and if it has shock value, like a rape joke, then your adverse reaction to the joke is funny as well.

Anything can be funny if told in the right manner. It's just black comedy. It's not like you feel a real life issue isn't serious just because you could make a joke about it. I mean, how many jokes involve people dying, for instance? Quite a lot.
That said, the joke in question wasn't funny, and it's easy to see how saying something like that can be construed as offensive. It's not like he had anything particularly funny or witty to say, it just made him look like a douche making a rape joke for the sake of making a rape joke. So yeah, it's okay if you're actually funny, I guess.

Guys getting raped is much easier grounds for comedy than women getting raped
further proves my point. it's always going to cause outrage if you joke about a woman getting raped, but guys getting raped in prison already is joked about frequently and no one gets upset.
