Turns out there are a bunch of different kind of printers out there.

Looked around a few places and eventually settled on this

Apparently people tend to like Brother printers, and this seemed a good deal for the price. Toner replacement cartridges aren't all too bad either for being high yield...

I plan to slowly have this thing pay for itself by printing out coupons, and if something bad happens to the world of online coupons before such happens, well...I still have a decent way to print stuff.

Huzzah for being late to the owning a printer party.

something like 10,000x more expensive than oil, so yes, price is a bit much.

there are probably a large number of factors causing that though, such as the willingness of people to pay such a price. and given the convenience, it is easy to see why.

doing some maths though, the cost to print per page for my printer, assuming maximum pages printed (and offset some by using the toner saver feature), it comes out to a cent or two per page. i probably have enough to cover that in the small change i've got saved up in a jar.
